Chapter 1

"Beomgyu! Hurry up and eat darling! Breakfast is getting cold!"

I heard my mom yell from downstairs. I got up and looked at the mirror infront of me all blacked out.

"Beomgyuah!" My mom said as she kept yelling my name.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back loud enough so she could hear me. I got up and got dressed to my school uniform. I came down the stairs and Sat down on the table my mom placed the breakfast on.

"My son is all grown!" She said as she patted my head. I was in a wealthy family and we didn't have any problems at all. I had a happy life.

I got up to my alarm ringing. Looking at the dusty roof that is covered in spider webs. "Y/n" my dad peeked his head through the door signaling me to get up and eat breakfast. I nodded As I stood up.

I would be going to a new high school today. I hope everything goes well.

I got dressed up to the uniform that was delivered just yesterday.

I came downstairs and saw my dad getting breakfast ready. He didn't know how to cook but he was making breakfast? I then saw him flinch burning his hand.

"Ow-!" He yelled as I came running to him. "Dad you shouldn't be doing things that you're not good at" I grabbed his hand and turned on the sink water. "I just wanted to make you breakfast since it's you're first day to a new high school" he sulked. He was a caring person. "You shouldn't have dad, I could do it myself" I said as I smiled. I then made breakfast for both of us.

My mom was always drunk and always mean, rude, abusive towards me. I had my dad who was there to protect me though. But sometimes dad would come home late and wasn't always here to protect me. But he tries his best.

After eating I saw that it was already 7:54 and I rushed out of my house waving dad a goodbye.

I grabbed my backpack and started running. There was 6 minutes left for class to start. I can't be late for the first day of school.

I was running but I bumped into someone and fell down. It looked like the guy was also In a hurry so he ran away. How rude. I got up and saw my hand bleeding. Eh. I couldn't careless. Since mom's beating is worse. I got up and kept walking to school. It was 8:03 AM. I'm already late. I arrived at school 7 minutes later and had trouble finding my class which took Me 15 more minutes.

I finally arrived at class and saw the whole class looking at me confused. "I'm really sorry for being late" I bowed and apologized.

"Ah! You must be the new student! Kang Y/n am I right?"

The teacher smiled. I thought he was gonna get mad at me for being late, I guess not.

"Yes sir. It's Kang Y/n" I answered him back.

"Good to see you! Go sit down next to that boy please, I'll arrange your seats next time" he said signaling me to sit down. I bowed and was making my way to the desk. I then recognized the boy. He was the one that I bumped into. How awkward was this gonna be now?

I sat down and he avoided eye contact. I guess he was the quiet type of guy.

Nevermind. 3 minutes into the lesson he asked everything about me. He told me his name was Huening Kai. He has an adorable personality but also annoying. We kept getting called out by the teacher as we kept talking quietly.

"I have a friend named Beomgyu, He sits alone at the back, you will get to see him next class in P.E." he said as he smirked while patting my shoulder. The bell rang and we went to the changing room.

As I was changing a girl popped up from my back. "Hey there! You're Y/n right?" She said with a exciting smile. "Yeah, Kang Y/n"

I replied back to her. "Great! I'm Eunchae!" She greeted me. She had a happy personality which also made me happy. "You have a pretty hair-!" She said touching my hair. It did quite annoy me for someone to touch my hair. But she was really sweet, so I just let her. "Thanks, It's nice to Meet you" I flashed a smile.

I tied my shoelaces and got out the changing room with Eunchae trailing behind my back.

We got to the gym and started warming up. We had to run 10 laps. The teacher was so cruel. The girls already had stopped and were sitting on the bench after 3 laps. I kept running with Eunchae and another girl behind me. After running seven more laps we finally sat down.

"Alright girls! We're gonna have a race against the boys!" The teacher said. I was always excited to have races against other people. Most of the time I'd always win. I bet I'd win this one too. The teacher took us outside where the boys were also working. I saw huening Kai talking with a boy. The boy was also laughing with him.

I wanted to know who was beomgyu.

"Huddle up boys! It's boys against girls!" Our teacher said. The boy who was talking with huening Kai started laughing.

"Teacher, really? Against girls? You know that we will win anyway!" He laughed. Is he really saying that? Oh I'll show him who will win.

"Mhm. Everybody to their starting position. Kang Y/n, you're pretty fast, go to the front. Beomgyu you also go to the front"

The teacher signaled us. So his name was Beomgyu? The guy heuning Kai was talking about. I'm gonna destroy this boy within a minute.

"Eunchae you will go first, you will hand the relay baton on your hand to your next runner. As soon as they grab it you can go back to the bench. The 2nd runner will run and hand the relay baton to the 3rd runner which is Y/n. Y/n you have to race against beomgyu. He's the fastest here"

The teacher said explaining the rules.

"Easy peasy!" Beomgyu laughed.

I nodded in response and we got on our positions.

"I'll beat you in no time" he whispered giving me a smirk. Oh please. Does he really think I'm that weak?
