Chapter 4

Beomgyu

After leaving the Cafe with the boys we decided to go home together. We would always go the same way but sometimes we would separate ways.

"Eunchae is quite lucky to have that girl besides her" one of my friends said. Right, they always picked on her. And kind of bullied her.

"What are you talking about?" Soobin said confused since he has no idea what goes around our school.

"You wouldn't understand hyung" I said and we kept walking.

To be honest, Y/n was a nice girl.
She is athletic and cares about her friends.

But I always try to win over stupid games. I should try to be her friend instead. Or maybe more than that?

Wait, what the hell am I saying.

"Gyu! Bro are you listening!?" One of my friends yelled.

"O-oh what?" I asked confused.

"The teacher said we should get ready for a huge race, it's going to be at school, the winner gets a prize" he said. I asked "what's the prize?". "I don't know about that yet, but what if it's big?" He answered me.

"I'll join the race then, I bet I'll win since I'm the fastest anyway" I said with a proud smirk.

"Don't get your hopes high up, that girl might also join" he said.

"Which girl?"

"That Y/n girl, she was a really fast runner. She could have pass you if she didn't fall" he said ruining my mood.

"Ah, shut up. She won't join" I said.

We kept talking and walked our way to home.

I came home and jumped on my bed. Such a happy night. Mom won't be coming home!

I squealed in my pillow happy knowing she won't be here for months.

I got my books out and started doing my homework, since she's not here I can do them freely. Sometimes she would come and check up on me.

After she was gone I could study freely. Without any pressure on me. I put on my headphones and put on a music, I started with math.

After few hours of studying, I closed my notes and packed my books for tomorrow.

I have to join a race next Friday on the behalf of Eunchae, she said she always wanted to win but she couldn't since the other team had beomgyu in it. Well I'm gonna change it this time.

I'll make sure we win. I looked at the time to see it was 1 AM. it was quite early but I should still get some sleep.

I changed into my pajamas and hopped on the bed. I scrolled through social media to see if there was anything interesting. But no. So I just went back to sleep.

The next morning

I woke up to my alarm ringing. I turned it off and started getting dressed up, I had training today, the teacher called me and the girls over for a training session.

I got to school and we headed to train with Eunchae. After a few moments the other team also came with our teacher.

The other team had beomgyu in it, he was a pretty fast runner. But I'm confident that I'm gonna pass him in no time.

"Okay! Everybody let's stretch out and we will start running!" She whistled.

We stretched for 20 minutes and she paired us up with our race partners.

"Okay Y/n, you and beomgyu will race together, you guys are the best runners of each team, you guys will go last. You can check out the others run while waiting" she said as we went to go sit on the bench.

"You know, I wouldn't be surprised if i won" beomgyu started.

"Oh come on. Your gonna start this again? How about you tey your best. Since that's what I'm gonna do" I patted his shoulders.

"I mean, it's not like you can run faster than me. I've been in the sports club for 3 Years. You joined this year, so I wouldn't be surprised if i won" he said with a smirk.

"We'll see sweetie" I patted his shoulder.

"You know, we should be friends instead of debating like enemies" he gave me his hand for me to shake it.

"Mhm." I said and shook his hand.

"Oh great, Eunchae and Kai's turn!" He turned around.

Two...

One..

Go!

The teacher yelled. I looked at Eunchae who was giving her best. She really wanted to win, but this was just a training session. I guess she wants to get stronger.

Eunchae passed the other team's member and started running even faster. She really improved. I was so happy for her.

She came in first before the other team did.

Our team's name was

'the brave six'

I don't know who named it but it quite weird.

"Andd..the brave six 1 points!" The teacher said.

It was a 1:0.

Next up was Yunjin, also one of Eunchae's closest friend. We also had sakura in our team and she was also a fast runner.

We had 6 members in our team, but we had to choose 4 for the race. We chose the fastest runner which was.

Yunjin

And me.

It was Yunjin's turn to run.
The teacher blew on the whistle and she started running like a leopard. She was really fast. We really did have the fastest people.

Yunjin was winning but then they passed her. So now it's 1:1.

Beomgyu's team:

Huening kai

Yeonjun

Taehyun

And soobin

They were five but they also picked out the fastest runners. And Yunjin was going against Huening Kai. So of course huening Kai would've won.

It was now Sakura's turn. She was going against Taehyun.

The teacher blew on the whistle once again. I looked at Taehyun who was already in the lead. They were close to the finish line but then I saw Sakura pass him.

Sakura was about to step on the finish line but taehyun passed her before she stepped on the finish line.

"Alright, last one! Whoever wins get a +2 to their score."

At first I thought we were gonna win. But we started to lose. I'm still not gonna lose towards this loser.
