The days passed, but the team couldn't find any fingerprint, any blood sample or something else related to the kidnappers. Deeks only found some tools, which proved that it was a team that kidnapped Steve. And although the whole island was on alert and the HDP was searching for Steve. At some point, Governor Denning informed even the mainland to be alerted. CIA learned that Five-0 and NCIS started the investigations again, so they sent some high rank agents to tell them to abandon the case for good. When the agents arrived, Chin and Callen were searching for some intel on their case (they were still investigating Steve's kidnapp). "What are you doing here?", Callen said when he saw the agents. "I think that our order was clear. Abandon the case. It now belongs to the CIA and the FBI", agent Chamberlain said. "Why should we do that?", Callen said. "Because CIA is the agency which takes decisions", Johnson said. "Well, i think that i have to say it again. McGarrett is a naval officer. So, NCIS has the right to investigate the case. This is what our acronym stands for", Callen said. "I don't care what your agency's acronym stands for. Our order is clear : Abandon the case, or you will have a problem.", Chamberlain said. "Alright, as you wish. Take the case and solve it. But if you don't find Commander McGarrett, you will have to deal with his wife. She is very upset right now, and if she loses her husband, she will be pissed. At least, we will not be the ones who will have our asses kicked", Callen said ironically. "We will consider this as a joke", Johnson said. "Now, you can freely get the hell out of our headquarters and return to Langley and keep working on the case", Chin said. The agents left the Headquarters. Some seconds later, Catherine entered the central room and looked at Callen and Chin. "What were they doing here?", she asked. "They came to tell us to abandon the case, because that's an order", Callen said. "So, this is it?", Catherine said. "I am afraid yes...", Chin replied. "Great... Now we will have to wait for them to solve the case and find Steve...", Catherine said. "We have no other choice", Callen said. "The problem is that the kidnappers keep calling us to check if we have the money. What are we going to do?", Catherine asked. "We have only one choice : Tell them that we don't have the money they demand", Callen said. "So i guess that the case is unsolved for us", Catherine said. "You can say so. We only know that Steve has been kidnapped. What else can we do? We can't identify the voice of the caller", Callen explained. "We can give the call recording to the CIA to identify it", Chin said. "They won't be able to identify it. It's impossible", Callen said. Then, Danny and the rest of the team got in. "Hey, did we miss something?", Danny said. "Yeah, you actually missed a lot", Callen replied. "We are listening", Danny said. "Chamberlain and Johnson visited us again...", Callen said. "...and they ordered us to abandon the case once and for all", Catherine added. "What are we doing now?", Kensie said. "We will contact with the european agencies to help us", Callen said. "And which agency is going to help us?", Sam asked. "Does anyone have any affiliations with any agency in Europe?", Callen asked. Nobody asked directly, but instead, they started thinking. After a while, Catherine broke the silence. "I think that i know someone who can help us", she said. "Who is this person?", Danny asked. "Where does he come from?", Deeks asked. "Hey, take it easy. I have to explain to you how i know this person", Catherine said. "We are listening", Kono said. "I remember that Steve had mentioned that he has a brother who lives in Greece. All i know is that he is serving in the National Intelligence Service", Catherine said. "Don't worry Cath. We will just call N.I.S. and we will tell them that we want to talk to someone named McGarrett. He has the same last name with Steve, so it won't be that difficult to find him", Kensie said.
