The call - "We have McGarrett"

1 WEEK LATER...

The team kept trying to find out what had happened to Steve. The whole island was on alert.

It was early in the morning (around 10:50), when Catherine's phone rang. Cath grabbed her phone to answer to the call, but she saw that the number was unknown. "Hello", Catherine said upon answering. "Who am i talking to?", the strange voice said. "I am Lieutenant Catherine Rollins", Cath replied. "We have captured your husband as a hostage. If you want to see him again, you have to find 100.000.000 dollars and exchange them with your husband. You have 20 days to do that", the stranger said and closed the phone. Catherine was totally scared. She slowly stood up and went to the main room, where Chin and the rest of the team were discussing evidence about the case. "What if Steve left for a mission?", Kensie said. "He would have told us about his mission", Chin said. Meanwhile, Catherine had stepped closer. "Guys... i... i need... to tell you something...", she said. "What is going on Cath?", Kensie said. "I just had a call...", Cath said. "From who?", Sam said. "I don't know... but... but he said that... they have... kidnapped Steve...", Catherine said while shaking. Then she bursted into tears. Kono ran and hugged her. "Hey, we will find who called you Cath", Kono said. "Give me your phone Catherine", Chin said. Catherine gave her phone to Chin, who searched Cath's call record. He found the last call and he played it. "We have captured your husband as a hostage. If you want to see him again, you have to find 100.000.000 dollars and exchange them with your husband. You have 20 days to do that". This is what the team heard. "They deformed their voice on purpose. We can't find out who is the one who talks", Callen said. "Is there a chance of separataing the voice from the deformation?", Deeks said. "It's impossible. We can't do that", Chin said. "Then, what are we doing?", Kono said. "We have to wait for them to call again. In this way, we will be able to locate them. We have no other choice", Kensie said. "And what are we going to do untill then? We have to find 100.000.000 dollars", Catherine asked. "We will talk to the Governor to help us", Danny said. "Alright. Me, Callen, Kensie, Deeks and Danny will go inform the Governor about Steve's abduction", Sam said. "Alright, me, Cath and Kono will stay here and try to identify the voice of the caller", Chin said. Danny and the NCIS team left to inform the Governor. Chin and Kono started the identification process, while Catherine was taking care of her kids. She was very scared and nervous at the same time, as she had to find 100.000.000 dollars in 20 days and give them to the people who were holding her husband. She also didn't know what to tell to Jason and Jennifer, who were constantly asking if Steve was ok. She had to do something for that.

After some hours, Danny and the NCIS team returned to the Headquarters. Catherine saw them and she instantly ran to them. "What happened guys?", she said nervously. Silence dominated the headquarters. "Well... we told the governor that the people who called you, demand ransom...", Deeks said. "...but he refused to help us find the funds...", Kensie added. "...which means that we are on our own", Callen said and finished the sentence. When Catherine heard the news, tears started running from her eyes. Then she collapsed. Callen and Danny ran to her. "Cath, are you ok?", Callen said quickly. "Catherine! Catherine!", Danny kept saying. "Guys, we must take her to the office and let her rest", Kensie said. The guys transported Catherine to Steve's office and let her rest while they were trying to revive her. After some minutes, Catherine finally found her consciousness. "Cath, are you ok?", Chin said. Catherine looked at everyone. "No, i'm not... What are we going to do to find Steve? Where are we going to find the money?", Catherine said worried. "We will do our best to find the money", Deeks said. Catherine nodded and tried to take some rest. Meanwhile the team continued working on the case. Everybody were doing their best to find out who had kidnapped Steve. Meanwhile, the kidnappers kept calling Catherine to see if she had the money. But, they never revealed where the exchange was going to take place. They just wanted to know what was happening.
