Draco POV
Ugh those idiots.
...
I looked out the window as I opened the curtains. It was raining. Hermione was sitting on her bed now, yawning. I tilted my head to see that she lied down. I chuckled.
"What happened? Was yesterday too tiring for my love?", I teased.
"No", Hermione stifled a yawn, "Just a bit", another yawn, "Tired".
"It's raining hard", I said. Hermione nodded. Suddenly I had an idea. "Get ready, Hermione".
"Huh?", she said softly, still lying on her bed. I rolled my eyes. "Get up!", I said pulling her up. I accidentally pulled her up too hard which made her stumble onto me.
"Draco!", she screamed as she nearly fell on the floor, but I caught her. I held her in my arms.
She stared at me, scowling, with red cheeks, frizzy hair, and a cute scowl. I laughed. I carried her to the bathroom. "Hurry up, we're going somewhere", as I put her down, and she shut the door.
I chuckled. No lessons today either, perfect.
Hermione POV
Where are we going, I wondered. I got out of the bathroom wearing a plain white dress with white stockings. I chose black shoes. Draco stood there in his dress shirt and trousers. He grabbed my hand as I got out, and I didn't even get the time to brush my hair properly.
"Where are we going!", I said, in a slightly loud tone. Draco just grinned at me, as we jogged down the stairs. Several students stared at us, as we passed by.
Awkward.
We also saw a very expressionless Pansy at the 3rd staircase, and at the last staircase, we saw Blaise and Nott, grinning at Draco.
"Dra-", I began, but now we were out on the grounds, where it was raining. I stared up at the rain... How did he know I love being out in the rain?
I didn't care one bit about my dress or stockings getting wet, I just stared up, while Draco grinned at me.
The rain felt like drops of tears on my face, the water felt beautiful as I let lightweight droplets fall on me. I closed my eyes, a memory.
Water has memory.
Memory
"Daddy! Come dance with me in the rain!"
"Coming, darling! Let me just wear my shoes!", Daddy said, wearing his boots, obviously taking so long.
"Daddy! You take so long! See, even a 7-year-old like me can wear their boots quickly and come in the rain!", I said, now opening my mouth, letting the cold, hard rainfall in.
Daddy chuckled, "Okay okay, I'm coming", and he came out, as we danced in the rain, laughing.
"Look, Mommy! I'm dancing in the rain!", I called out, laughing out loud.
"Darling come back quick, you'll get sick!", Mommy called out. I shook my head, stubbornly. My dad laughed, while my mom shook her head rolling her eyes.
End of memory.
I opened my eyes, and a real tear escaped. Slowly, Draco held my hands. He had the softest smile I had ever seen.
"Let's dance", Draco whispered. Another tear, mixed with joy and sadness. I gave a laugh, mixed with happiness and extreme breakdown. I held his hands and we slowly started dancing in the rain.
The rain fell even harder. And we kept on dancing, slowly. I twirled under Draco's arm, and we slow danced. We may have looked goofy but... It was beautiful.
I could feel Harry, Ron, and Ginny watching me up from the tower. One step here. The other step is there.
Up. Left. Right. Twirl. My eyes were watering with tears now. And that's when the two of us realized:
Silence is beautiful.
And without a word, I gave a hearty sob and fell into his arms.
I cried. I cried all I could. I cried about Dad. I cried about Mom. I cried about all the memories. I cried about the rain.
And Draco hugged me tightly and calmed me down. He ruffled my hair and rose my chin. His grey eyes bore into my teary eyes. Meaningful.
And with that, he slid his wet arms underneath my knees and back, and I buried my face into his chest; He carried me into the room.
...
Draco POV
I didn't mean to make her sad. I hope I didn't. I sat her down on my bed and sat next to her. She buried her head into her hands.
"Look, I'm so sorry, I-", I began, but Hermione put her hand on my mouth.
"No", she whispered, "It's not your fault".
I bit my lip. Why did I do this? I retrieved a memory of hers... Oh, why am I like this! Hermione removed her hand from my mouth, and looked down.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to hurt you", I whispered. She shook her head with a small smile.
" No it's just that... before my parents died... me and my father loved to dance in the rain... whenever it rained, the two of us would go outside and Mom would tell us to come back in, saying that I'll get a cold", she gave a little sneeze, I laughed.
"Seems like you also got a cold this time too", I whispered, grinning. She smiled, and sniffed. She shrugged.
"Sorry", I whispered again.
"No it's fine, it was fun dancing in the rain again", Hermione whispered back, grinning. I smirked. She sneezed again.
I smirked, as I grabbed her in my arms, "Oh look who is sick, you need bed rest", I said, emphasizing on the last word.
"No, no I don't need bed rest, I'm completely fine! What does a bit of rain dancing do!" Hermione protested, trying to get out of my arms.
I smirked as she sneezed again. I lied her down in bed, and gave her a potion.
"Draco, I seriously do-", she protested again, getting up from the bed.
I put my hand on her mouth and shook my head, smirking, "Na na na, stay here".
Hermione pouted and lied down, and whispered, "how did you know I love rain?".
I ruffled her hair, and whispered back, "Why would I not know? I know everything that my love knows, thinks, and says, because you're mine", and with that, I turned off the light and closed the door behind me.
