Chapter 8: The Female

Just as you had expected that was the last time you went to visit old headquarters. Things in trost were very busy and you're  finally able to use your tactical ability to help Erwin with something big. You were preparing for your next scouting expedition into wall Maria. Because of your close relationship and bond you had with Erwin, he entrusted only you and his immediate scouts with specific information. You don't even think he told Levi about this since he's not been here to receive the information in person.

Erwin suspects another titan is out there. He believes it could be someone closer than we think after the aftermath of Hanges two Titans being killed. He regularly confides in you to ask about certain people, but you're just as clueless as him. Most of the cadets from your year had either died, been severely injured, or had already been questioned by Erwin.

You also helped in the development of a new special restraint for Titans, helping improve the design after Hanges experiment. Most days you sat around a table with Erwin, pointing out spots in the long range scouting formation. The whole plan was to keep Eren safe in the middle with levi squad and draw whoever is after Eren into the forest where you will be setting up the new special restraints. You know your fellow scouts won't be happy when they put two and two together, but this is the best possible way to determine exactly what is going on and who is after Eren.

You wanted to tell Levi. You were worried. He was going to be riding next to and protecting the bait for this mission. You had faith that he was good but whenever abnormals are involved, it's a different story.

You're all lining up near the gate entrance on the day of the 57th expedition. You ride proudly next to commander Erwin. You feel bad for everyone who was left out of there plan, especially Levi. "I'm going out to make sure the carts are secure and that the wagon defense team knows the plan to enter the forest, when I return we ride," Erwin says as he dismounts off of his horse.

"Look at you up front," you hear a low voice coming from behind you. You turn to see Levi and your heart does a somersault. His hair is blowing in the wind and he stands smirking at you with his arms crossed. "Was it your tactical plan that placed my squad right behind you? You spoil me," Levi says winking as he approached you on your horse and smacks his hand down hard on your upper thigh. His fingers spread and then he squeezes you and you let out a giggle.

You want to lean down and kiss him, but you don't want anyone else to see. Nor do you know what Levi would do in this situation. You want to tell Levi of his role in this, try to convince him to turn back, "Don't die," is all you manage to say.

"I won't...,"Levi trails off lost in thought, "there's so many more things I want to do with you," Levi says sexually as he pushes his hair back. You see Erwin riding forward and you see him eye the both of you. Levi turns to go but not before Erwin can say, "Levi back to your squad. We really don't have time for any distractions today," Erwin finishes glancing at you and then back to Levi.

Levi's mouth drops open and you smack your hand over your mouth. Both of you are speechless, but Erwin turns around. He's too focused to be worrying about his assistant and his right hand man. Levi gives you one last look and turns to head back to his squad. You turn on your horse and perch next to Erwin. Everyone else begins to fall in place.

Erwin orders everyone forward and you ride through the town nearest the gate. You are flying down the streets so fast you don't notice any Titans, but you know they are hiding somewhere. Then you hear the sounds of a building crashing from behind you. You don't turn to look, that is not your job in this formation. Your tactical plan has specific teams to evade and take out incoming Titans. Erwin doesn't flinch when he hears the noise of more falling rubble. He continues to push on.
