You heart stutters when you wake up in a room you don't recognize and can barely move your body. Everything hurts, especially the right side of your head. You reach up and notice bandages. You throw the covers off of you and notice even more bandages. They wrap around your leg, your torso, your right shoulder, and finally your hand traces over your right ear.

You can't feel anything there. There's no bump where your lobe should be. Your hands aren't wrapped up, so you try snapping. First in your unwrapped ear and then you position your fingers to your wrapped ear. Even without the wrapping being there, you know you can't hear anything out of your right ear.

You try to remember what happened. It seems a bit foggy and you are definitely light headed still. You remember the titan you killed. You remember the rocks flying at you. You remember Levi saving you and bringing you over the wall. You remember Erwin laying down on the roof in front of you.

Erwin. The serum. Levi. You sit up and are immediately humbled by your aching body. You wince and let out a string of swear words when theres a knock at the door.

Hange bursts through the door, "I hear someone's awake!", they joke sarcastically.

Levi trails behind them. He looks worried. You meet his gaze and he relaxes.

"We just came by to see how you are doing! So glad you are finally up. Levi here held you the whole way back in the wagon. He insisted. How chivalrous," Hange explains.

Levi blushes, but shoots Hange a deathly glare, "She needed pressure applied to her wounds so she wouldn't bleed out," Levi responds calmly. If you didn't know him so well, you wouldn't have noticed the slight shake in his voice. It's adorable seeing him get flustered like this.

Hange turns to Levi and then looks back at you, then back to Levi, then back to you. "Levi... you're blushing...", Hange says curiously. "Are you two an item?"

You try to bite your lip to keep from smiling, but the blush on your cheeks is giving you away. Levi's still hasn't disappeared from the first time he started blushing.

"OH MY GOD, you totally are together! Tell me everything! When's the wedding?," Hange swoons sarcastically.

"The only thing you're going to need to worry about is planning your funeral. Can it four eyes," Levi snaps at them.

You can't help but smile back at Hange, who squeals again when they see your face.

"Alright, alright fine...We do have business to attend to," Hange starts. "What do you remember?", they ask turning to you.

You begin recounting everything you remember. They fill you in on things you missed while you were taking out titans and dodging rocks from the beast. They explain that most of the scouts died. There were only 10 survivors. 3 of which were standing in this room and Levi squad.

You frown in confusion, not quite understanding what they meant by ten people. Just us and Levi squad. It didn't add up. Weren't they forgetting about Erwin? You remember being pulled away before Levi injected Erwin, so why are they leaving that part out.

Hange picks up on your confusion, but doesn't say anything, trying to be respectful as you digest this information.

"And Erwin, right?" You finish quickly, staring down at the blankets around you.

Levi looks away. He clearly doesn't know what to say, so Hange takes over for him, "Well, there was a lot of debate about the serum. Erwin brushed death charging headfirst towards the beast titan, and Armin managed to kill the colossal titan. After weighing their achievements and their desires, Levi chose who he thought would best be able to save humanity." Hange finishes
