The kiss

Charles sits at his desk, his hand shaking as he writes a note to Max. Tears roll down his cheeks as he writes.

Dear Max,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to let you know that I have decided to leave. I saw you kiss another man and I cannot ignore what I saw. I know we have been together for a long time, but I cannot continue our relationship under these circumstances.

I want to believe that there is a logical explanation for what I saw, but I cannot ignore the pain and betrayal I feel. I need time to heal and process what has happened.

I hope that someday we can find a way to reconcile and build a future together. But for now, I need to focus on myself and my own well-being.

Charles folds the note, placing it on the kitchen counter before gathering his things and leaving. His heart feels heavy as he walks out the door, unsure of what the future holds.

Max's POV

Max is at a party, drinking and having a good time with friends. He's had a little too much to drink, and his inhibitions are lowered. At one point, he accidentally kisses a Daniel his ex teammate and lover on the lips while trying to make a point in conversation.

Charles his boyfriend is at the same party, and he watches in horror as Max kisses his ex. Charles's heart aches as he sees the love of his life kiss someone else, and he quickly runs out of the room, tears streaming down his face.

Max is oblivious to Charles's distress, still drinking and having a good time with his friends. He only realizes something is wrong when he walks back into the kitchen and sees the note from Charles on the counter. Max picks up the note, reading it with growing horror.

"Charles, wait! Come back!" Max calls out, running after Charles. But Charles is gone, and Max is left alone, confused and heartbroken. He had no idea that Charles was even there, let alone that he had seen the accidental kiss. Max is devastated, not knowing how to make things right with Charles.

Two weeks later

Max Verstappen is desperate to win back Charles Leclerc. He knows he made a mistake, and he's willing to do anything to make it right. So, he turns to the tried-and-true methods of romantic comedies and starts using chick flick cliches to try and win Charles back.

Max shows up at Charles's door with a bouquet of flowers and a cheesy pick-up line. "I just wanted to remind you of the way you make me feel," he says, batting his eyelashes.

Charles raises an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Max, what are you doing?"

Max continues, undeterred. He serenades Charles with a love song, writes him love letters, and even stages a dramatic rain-soaked declaration of love. But Charles is not having any of it. He's hurt and angry, and he doesn't want to be won back with cliches and theatrics.

"Max, I appreciate the effort, but I need more than just a show. I need you to be honest and sincere about your feelings and actions. I need to trust you again," Charles says firmly.

Max realizes that he needs to do more than just use chick flick cliches to win Charles back. He needs to be honest, open, and genuine about his feelings and actions. He starts working on rebuilding their relationship from the ground up, one day at a time.

One month later
After a full month of max trying to win him back Charles decides that he needs his friend back so let's max back in. Max and Charles start to reconnect as friends. They talk and laugh, rekindling the spark that first brought them together. Max is patient, showing Charles that he's changed and that he's truly sorry for what happened.

Over time, Charles starts to see the man he fell in love with in Max again. He starts to open his heart back up to Max, allowing himself to be vulnerable once more. Charles realizes that he still loves Max and that he wants to give their relationship another chance.

Max is overjoyed when Charles tells him that he's willing to try again. He promises to never hurt Charles again and to work on building a strong and loving relationship.

Together, Max and Charles start to build a new future, one filled with love, trust, and commitment. They support each other through the ups and downs, becoming stronger together every day. They become each other's rock, and their love continues to flourish and grow, proving that with patience, honesty, and effort, anything is possible.
