The train ride to our stop was completely uneventful. It was kind of nice after all of the chaos from the last few months. I was so zoned out that I almost didn't notice when the train started to stop for us to get off. When we got off and climbed up the stairs, I could smell the fresh air, or as fresh as the air can get in New York. We didn't really talk much on the way to the school, but I guess that he couldn't take the silence any more so he asked me, "Earlier on the train, what did he mean about you being the reason that his sister left?"

I sighed before saying, "It isn't how it sounds. Last month when Caleb attacked me the first time, Kayla was there. I could tell that he had been beating her, so I told her to run. She did. That is all that happened," I assured him.

"It's okay. I believe you, Kait. That seems like something you would do," he said as we neared the gate to Midtown. "You are the kind of person that wants to help everyone. Even if they are trying to kill you," he joked, even though it was pretty true.

I was about to respond when a car pulled up and the driver yelled, "Hey Parker. You meet her at the supposed Stark Internship." He was laughing as he drove away to park.

"Okay. That was... interesting." I remarked to Peter, while glaring knives at the driver.

"Yeah. That's Flash Thompson. His parents are pretty rich, so he thinks that makes him better than everyone else. Especially me," Peter said calmly as if it was normal. "He idolizes Spiderman, which is hilarious if you think about it."

"Don't you just want to go up to him and beat him senseless? If it were me then he would've been in a coma years ago."

"I know, and I want to. But if I do then everyone is going to know that I'm Spider-Man; if that happens then everyone that I care about is in danger. Besides, my job is to protect people. Even people like him."

"Makes sense I guess. When you sign up to save people, you can't exactly be picky."

It was only 7:45, but there were already a bunch of people here. I guess getting to school early for a good locker is no joke. There were only a few good lockers left, but we couldn't find three consecutive ones. Peter said that the third one was for his best friend Ned. When both of us thought that all hope was lost, we saw Ned waving us down and next to him were three of the best lockers in school.

"Hey, Ned," Peter exclaimed as they did an extremely complex handshake. "Thanks for saving all three lockers."

"Well, you did say that there was going to be a girl that you knew coming, so I grabbed the third," Ned said with a smile. He was wearing a striped shirt and white sneakers. "So is this her?"

"Yep. This is-."

I cut him off, "I'm Kaitlyn. Peter and I met through the, um, Stark Internship. He's told me a lot about you, Ned."

"I've heard a lot about you too. Peter told me about your... abilities," he said hesitantly due to all of the other people around.

"So do you know about Peter's abilities?" I asked him, eager to know if I could trust him.

"Yeah, I found out about it while putting together the LEGO Death Star."

"Wait," I said happily, "you have one? It's like five hundred dollars. I've always wanted one but could never afford it."

"I'll show it to you sometime. Where do you live? That way I can bring it so that you can see." Ned stated enthusiastically.

I was right about to tell him when the bell rang telling us we had five minutes to get to class. It also told us that we had been looking around and talking for five minutes. All three of us hastily put our stuff in our lockers and put the combination locks on. On our way to class Peter, Ned, and I compared our schedules. Fortunately, we had all but fourth period together(I wanted to take music. Sue me). Unfortunately, I caught a glimpse of Flash Thompson's schedule; we had all the same classes, too. While realizing this, I let out a long, disappointed sigh.

"What? What is it?" Peter asked.

I didn't want to say it out loud for risk of drawing attention to ourselves. So, I took a pencil and wrote it down on a piece of paper in his notebook. When he read it, he did the same thing that I did.
