"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"
"Zahra, are you okay? Marc questioned.
Zahra turned to him with an odd expression on her face. At first, Marc thought that she was going to cry but when he got slightly closer, she realised he had the look of guilt.
"Hey," He placed a hand on her cheek,"What happened back there is not on you."
"You blamed yourself for all that time but it was me all along, Marc," Zahra whispered. "I got myself killed because I was stupid. I was so stupid."
"You are not stupid Zahra," Marc assured. "You've never been stupid."
"Oi. What's this?" Steven questioned, pointing to a door.
Marc seemed mildly annoyed that Steven had ruined his moment of trying to comfort Zahra for the sake of memory. When he saw what memory it was, he quickly went to get Marc away from the door.
"Steven, what are we gonna do here? We're gonna revisit every single memory I've ever had?" Marc questioned, pulling his arm.
"Do you... Do you remember this?"
"Yeah. I don't know, it's just a street, you know. How many streets have you walked down your whole life?"
"Help!"
They all turned in the direction of the cry, looking for the source.
"Did you hear that?" Zahra questioned.
"Yeah," Steven replied as he ran off down the hall with Zahra closely behind him.
Steven was the first to push through a set of doors as Marc ran after them, calling out Steven's name quietly.
Dead bodies filled the room, their eyes open and glassy. Shaped urns sat in front of each body as Marc and Zahra began to recognise the people.
"Just a creepy caff filled with dead bodies. That's all it is." Steven turned to Marc,"No prizes guessing whose room this is. Yours."
"Funny."
"Dubai. Gabon. New York. No way." Marc walked around each person,"Oh, man."
"What, do you know these people?" Steven questioned in a judgemental tone," No. Oh, no. Surely not all of them? You killed all of them?"
"Not all of them," said Zahra quietly as she stared at a table with five people on it.
"No, Zahra, surely not you..." Steven tailed.
"I didn't have a choice. Nephthys and I tried to make sure that everyone had a choice but there was always those who wouldn't give in," Zahra replied, closing her eyes,"I didn't have a choice, they were going to do worse things."
"They were criminals. Murderers. Predators. The worst of the worst. Khonshu wanted them punished." Marc explained. "It's what he meant by protecting the travellers of the night."
