Montgomery de la Cruz -

The brunette boy watched as the girl he liked ran off the field crying. He wanted to chase the girl so bad- he needed to chase after her.

"Hey where are you going?" Bryce yelled at the boy grabbing his wrist.

"Fuck you," Monty spat the boy and ran toward the school busting through the doors.

"Alice!" he called out lightly grabbing her arm, "what happened? what's wrong?"

"Chloe didn't believe me," Alice cried out grabbing Monty, "she kicked me off of the team," Alice choked back her sob, "this is my life now. I'm always going to be this person- I lost my best friend"

"She doesn't deserve you," Monty said grabbing the girls hand leading her out to his jeep, "let's get out of here. Get your mind off of everything," he said opening the door for the girl.

Few moments later they ended up at a beach. The sky was dark, poorly lit. Alice wasn't complaining, neither of them minding the dark beach.

Monty stared at the girl as they walked closer to the water, "you're so beautiful," he said quietly holding onto the girl.

"Monty, am I going to feel like this forever?" she questioned looking down at her cheerleading uniform, "those bruises are still there, they're a reminder of what happened to me, they're not healing"

"They're warrior scars," Monty smiled softly, "they're a reminder that you've lived through some tough shit and you made it out alive"

"Did I make it out alive?" she asked grabbing his hands, "because i'm not sure I did"

Montgomery stepped through his house later that night after dropping Alice off at home.

His smiled never left his mouth as he dropped his keys down on the dining room table.

Pictures of his older sisters lined the stairway up to the second floor, ending frame being a photo of his entire family.

He scoffed at the look of his dads smug face on the photo as he closed his bedroom door.

He took off his uniform choosing something much more comfortable, he heard the door creak behind him.

"Did you guys win tonight?" the deep voice behind him asked.

Monty whipped his head toward his father as he shrugged his shoulders, "I left halfway through it," he replied sitting down on his bed.

"Why is that?" his dad asked, his voice cold.

"Because-" Monty stopped for a second. He didn't know what his excuse was this time or maybe he just didn't know what excuse would make his dad leave his room.

"You have no fucking right to ruin your career for nothing," his dad began, "you shouldn't have left the game like that," his dad sounded angry.

Monty rolled his eyes, "alright dad," he said.

"Don't give me attitude, boy," his dad shouted slamming the door fully open.

"I wasn't, I'm just tired," he said defending himself.

His dad just scoffed slamming his bedroom door shut. He was just happy it didn't physically like the many times before.
