Alice Rose-

"Monty, it's fine," Alice Rose said looking over at the brunette jock, "wanna bite, Bryce?" Alice asked handing him over the small piece of sandwich she had left.

"Of course," the blonde boy said and grabbed it from her hand.

"Hey, why don't we start heading to school," Monty said getting up, "come on, Alice," he said again.

The girl stood up, but was immediately pulled down by Bryce, "we still have twenty minutes before we actually have to go, sit down. Stay awhile," Bryce said and smiled toward Alice.

"Yeah, Bryce is right," Alice said and looked at Monty.

"No, I think it's best if we go now," Monty said but quickly was cut off by Bryce.

"Don't worry, brother. I can drive her back to school," Bryce said and nudged the girl next to her.

"Whatever, I'm out," Monty replied back and quickly left the cafe.

"What a guy, am I right?" Bryce said moving closer the girl.

"He's so... dreamy," Alice said cheekily smiling and looking up at the ceiling, "he really is great".

"I taught him everything he knew," Bryce chuckled and placed his hand on Alice's thigh, "I mean everything," he said once again and moved his hand up a little father.

Alice quickly grabbed his hand and pushed him away, "you're dating my best friend, Bryce," Alice said.

"Hey, just relax," Bryce said into the girls ear and placed his other hand on her hip.

"Let go, get off of me," Alice yelled and stood up, "I'll see you later," she said once again and quickly ran out of Monet's.

She began walking back to school as tears came from her eyes. She harshly wiped them off her face and suddenly caught a glimpse of the noticeable Jeep driving slowly next to her.

"Need a ride?" Montgomery asked the girl.

"No," she said sourly and kept her face looking ahead.

"C'mon, what's wrong?" Monty said again, speeding up a little bit.

"Nothing, I just want to be alone right now".

"We both know that a lie. It was Bryce, wasn't it? Sometimes he gets a little crazy but he doesn't mean-"

Alice stopped in her tracks and turned toward the Jeep that came to a complete stop. She looked Monty in the eye and stared at him, "are seriously trying to justify your friends behavior?"

"N- no. I'm just saying he doesn't-"

"I'll see you back at school, Montgomery," Alice said and continued walking.

"Alice, wait-" Monty yelled and quickly parked his car before running after the girl, "what did he do?"

"It doesn't matter. I have to get back to school," Alice said pushing the boy away.

"Alice-"

"Please, I just want to get to school, Monty. I'll talk to you later, okay?" Alice said and walked away from the boy, leaving him in the middle of the sidewalk.

Alice quickly changed after school ended and went out to the schools to get her team ready for practice. She started off with stretches and lazily did them.

"We should go over our whole routine for the pep rally. Okay?" Alice said and picked up their coaches clipboard, "I think coach-" Alice begun, but was distracted by the boys coming from the locker room.

"Hey, captain!" one of the girls yelled waving their hands in front of her face.

"Are you alright?" Chloe Rice then asked from her spot.

"Yeah, I'm-" Alice began and looked up once again, catching Bryce's eyes. Alice choked on her breath and dropped the clipboard, "I'm sorry- I'm okay," she said and sat down on the turf.

"What's going on?" Chloe asked again sitting down, "what happened?"

"Nothing, let's just start at the beginning. Jessica, coach wants you to try and be flyer. You'll switch with Abby," the girl said and smiled at her friend, "think you can do that?"

Jessica laughed a little before standing in between the girls, "of course I can".
