Montgomery de la Cruz-

The tall brunette boy walked to his first-period class smiling at the thought of the Alice girl and 'milkshakes at Rosie's'. His stomach leaped when he thought about the possible future with the girl, but Monty couldn't let himself get attached too easily.

Montgomery sat in an empty desk all the way in the back of the classroom. He liked to isolate himself from the others in his classes, unless if they were his teammates. Unfortunately, he didn't have any of his friends in his class.

He sat there and stared out the window for the whole class. He thought to himself about the different possible reasons why Chloe Rice would want to set up him with Alice, it just didn't make sense to him.

Montgomery regained his thoughts as the school bell rang causing him to snap back to reality.

"Monty, my man!" Bryce yelled from the opposite side of the hallway.

"Bricey!" Monty yelled back and slapped his friends back, "what do you know about Alice Rose?" Montgomery asked.

"She's hot," Bryce said moaning his sentence and then quickly regaining himself, "she's nice".

"I mean yeah, she's cute," Montgomery said back, rolling his eyes at his friends previous actions.

"More than just 'cute'. If you don't respect that then I might have to steal her from you- you can take Chloe," Bryce joked, slapping the boys back.

By the time it was lunch, the anticipation of telling Alice the answer is yes was killing Monty. It was an understatement to say the least for the boy who was jumping up and down on his heels due to his nerves.

On the way to the cafeteria, Monty caught a glimpse of the dark skinned girl and quickly straightened out his shirt before walking toward her and her friends.

"Hey, can I steal Alice for a minute?" Monty questioned and loosely grabbing the girls wrist, pulling her away.

"Oh, hey Monty. What's up?" The girl asked looking up into the boys' hazel eyes.

"I would love having the honor of drinking milkshakes with you at Rosie's after school," Monty said with a cheesy smile.

Alice smiled back at him and hide her blushing cheeks, only for Monty to caress her cheek, "I'll drive us," the brunette jock said.

"I- no," Alice said breathlessly and looked down feeling intimidated by the boy, "I drove myself to school today because of, well, morning practice. I'll meet you there after school, okay?"

"Okay, see you then, Alice Rose," Monty said and walked away, leaving the girl alone in the middle of the hallway alone.
