Kaveh was immediately hit with the freezing temperature, the walk to the inn wasn't that far. But Kaveh appeared unwell to the sudden drop, his hands moved up and down his arms. The cold bit at his skin turning his ears a freezing red. Alhaitham was leading, once he noticed how Kaveh kept getting left behind he turned and witnessed his state.
"It's utterly freezing, how far is the walk?"
Kaveh's hands moved up and down his own arms quicker to try and warm up, but it wasn't enough for him as he complained aloud. The cold didn't bother Alhaitham as much, so he pulled off his coat, walked behind Kaveh, and slipped it over his shoulders. It was still warm from Alhaitham's body heat, Kaveh appeared relaxed, and the cold puffs came easily into the air. Kaveh lifted one arm up to pull the coat closer to his skin, his head kept down in a moment of calm.
"It's warm, thank you."
He mumbled briefly, Alhaitham waved his hand before he walked past Kaveh, moving toward the inn. Upon arriving he allowed Kaveh to enter first, his shoulders were reddish from the cold. He nodded subtly to the clerk, he pressed the keys into room 15. It unlocked and he made his way inside, Kaveh moved in right after still holding onto his coat. The room had a single bed, and next to it was a nightstand where Alhaitham placed down his book. He snatched a bottle of water from one of the drawers. Opening the cap he approached Kaveh,
"Lift your head."
He demanded coldly, Kaveh fumbled out of it, beginning to lean over. Alhaitham took a grip of his chin and lifted it up for him as he poured some water in. Kaveh swallowed, his eyes beginning to falter down. Alhaitham gently led him over to the bed where he helped him get tucked in. Alhaitham couldn't help but feel annoyed, not only did he have to take care of Kaveh as if he were some child. He also must deal with the complaints of a hangover tomorrow. Just thinking about it was infuriating. He began to prepare himself to sleep when his gaze traveled to Kaveh who had passed out instantly, his shoulders still bore Alhaitham's coat. He didn't mind, as long as he didn't find drool on it the next morning.
"Dream well, Kaveh."
The sun's burning heat caressed Kaveh's face, his eyes squinted as he twisted and turned his head around to avoid its touch. His head was shot with a migraine, he groaned and finally managed to open his eyes. He saw Alhaitham lying down on a few sheets asleep, his coat began to slip off when Kaveh caught it. He realized it was Alhaitham's, his head was still in a blur from everything the other night. He pulled his legs to the edge of the bed before placing the coat on the nightstand. He rubbed his crusted eyes, feeling around his head to gain his senses back he realized how unsightly he appeared. His hair was a mess, and dark bags fell under his eyes. His clothes were wrinkled and a mess. He wondered how he could have gotten to this point, he felt an itch inside his shirt. He glanced down and saw the ugliest scribble, everything flushed back to his head in an instant.
"Whatever, I wasn't even that cold."
He rolled his tired eyes as he threw the paper onto Alhaitham's coat without much care. He made his way to the bathroom where he washed himself up. He was surprised to see that Alhaitham hadn't woken up yet, he took him as someone who has a perfect sleep schedule. He likely ruined it, Kaveh didn't dwindle on it too much as he undressed and got into the shower.
Alhaitham awoke to the sound of water falling from the other room, he sat up without much struggle. He stood up and stretched, feeling the aches in his back from sleeping on the floor. His gaze traveled to the bed, the sheets and blankets weren't folded and rather a mess. He let out a sigh and decided to leave it be, and make Kaveh clean it up later. He turned to the window where he measured the light. He observed it was around eleven AM in the morning, he scolded himself for sleeping in so long. Now they were doomed to travel back in the night. His eyes moved from the window towards his coat that lay quietly on the nightstand.
He reached his hand to take it when he noticed the small piece of notebook paper sitting atop. His curiosity got the best of him, he examined the paper. In scribbled lines appeared to be a messed up version of his outfit. Kaveh had attempted to redesign it based on an idea- the curves against the ends of his clothes were round rather than sharp. Giving off an opal-like vibe, Alhaitham didn't know Kaveh designed clothes as well. Wasn't he an architect? Whatever the case may be, the idea was interesting. He stuffed it into his pocket before placing back on his cloak. From the other room, he heard the shower turn off. Kaveh had just walked out half-dried. He was dressed and attempting to straighten out his shirt to appear nicer when he raised his head up to meet Alhaitham's eyes. There were droplets of water dripping from the ends of his hair, his shoulders were clean and shining. Because he had just gotten out of the shower, his shirt was slightly translucent giving off his toned muscles. Kaveh's face was turning sour as he leaned forward, putting his hands against his waist.
"You could use a towel, dripping over the floor isn't complimentary."
Alhaitham commented with a backhanded scoff. Kaveh's fists tightened into a ball as he gestured a finger at Alhaitham, then folded his arms arrogantly.
"If there was a towel in there, which there wasn't don't you think I would've used it? I'll dry off anyway, it's blistering out there."
Alhaitham let out a long sigh before walking past Kaveh, grabbing two backpacks, and stuffing food and other such essentials with the items he had bought beforehand. Kaveh looked relieved, deciding that he didn't have any need to help out. He seated himself down on the bed and rubbed his temples irritably
