"Trust me when I say that document is difficult, it's difficult! I've told you already, there's no way I'm finishing that in just a week."

Kaveh exclaimed with a chipper voice, and the two strolled side by side. Their long green robes flowed gently past their legs, and the small golden string hanging off their hats swung back and forth with their movements.

Alhaitham held an abundance of books and notes against his chest as he silently listened to all of Kaveh's chatter. A short smile rested on his lip, so small that you'd have to lean in close just to notice his amusement.

Kaveh was the sort who could talk with an audience, even without a reaction he wouldn't be stumped as to not speak. The silence was his best show, after all, it gave all the room for him to talk.

A few minutes passed by, and the gentle sound of water flowed through their ears. Kaveh began to nudge his arm against Alhaitham's as he giggled. Alhaitham reacted back by nudging him as well, he stopped talking and turned to him completely. At the time Alhaitham was on Kaveh by a few inches, so he was forced to stare up at him. His brows raised as he folded his arms, giving a mocking look as he leaned in with a smirk.

"Oh, I see, hah! I can push harder than that!"

Kaveh called out happily, opening his arms to push Alhaitham back. He reacted by pushing Kaveh back as well, this went on for a solid minute before it quickly turned into a challenging game.

Kaveh couldn't stop his giggles, he had managed to push Alhaitham close enough to the fountain, this time using his full body weight into his arms to push Alhaitham. He became startled by the strength, he took a single step but that was all it took for him to lose balance and land right into the shallow fountain.

Water splashed up and he was soaked, his eyes widened suddenly. Water dripped down the ends of his hair, and he quickly fixed his messy earpieces. He grumbled something under his breath, Kaveh was hysterical.

Holding his stomach as he indulged in his laughter. Alhaitham put his hand out toward Kaveh, inferring for a helping hand. Kaveh noticed, his expression turning sympathetically, he chuckled anxiously and reached his hand out to grab Alhaitham's. He got only an inch closer when he suddenly jumped his arm out to grip Kaveh's wrist.

"Haitham you–!"

Kaveh screeched before he flew forward, landing in the water beside Alhaitham. He begrudgingly lifted his head from the water, his whole body was soaked. He turned to see Alhaitham laughing silently, his whole body shaking uncontrollably before he laughed out loud. Kaveh's once agitated look turned happily, he pushed into the water and moved closer to Alhaitham. Pointing at his lips with a smile,

"You laughed! I heard that, I knew you could laugh!"

Kaveh giggled gleefully, and Alhaitham instantly shut down his expression into that same cold look. Kaveh reached his hands up placing them on his cheeks, pressing his thumbs on each corner of his lips. Attempting to lift them into a smile, only appeared to be terrifying. Kaveh frowned again, water dripping down his hair.

"I know what I saw, c'mon I know I could make you laugh. Do it again!"

Kaveh demanded, but his only response was to stand up and begin to pick up his wet books. Kaveh stood in the water, watching to the side with folded arms.

His eyes raised with an idea, he put his hands into the water and threw it in Alhaitham's direction. Calling his name directly beforehand, Alhaitham turned over, only to be met with cold moisture. His brows furrowed lightly as he stopped what he was doing, and Kaveh's once friendly and enlightened expression turned to concern.

Maybe even a bit of fear, Alhaitham approached closer and splashed him heavily. Kaveh laughed as he grabbed the end of his robe. Twisting it till the water drained, although he knew this wouldn't do much it still satisfied him. But to Kaveh, he only then realized that single splash wasn't it. Alhaitham was going right after him, the fountain was relatively large as Kaveh quickly made his escape.

He ran, the water dragging him down, Alhaitham was catching up quickly. At a moment's notice, Kaveh felt himself being splashed from behind again. He continuously wiped his eyes from the burn of water getting in them, he slowly began to back up after being splashed over and over.

He felt his foot press down on the back of his robes, it yanked him from behind as he suddenly fell back. His arm flew forward in the need to catch himself.

"Crap!"

Was all he managed to spit before he felt a strong arm entangle his waist, even with that support both he and Alhaitham fell into the water. Kaveh opened his eyes, he could feel his chest rising up and down hastily,

his breath only hitched when Alhaitham squeezed his waist. His cold frosty eyes were now filled with a warm sense of concern for Kaveh.

A drop of water rolled down his nose, landing on Kaveh's open collarbone. It strolled down to the center of his chest. Kaveh reached up with his hands towards his neck, Alhaitham could feel a burning red press the corner of his cheek. It made his arm curl Kaveh closer to him. Kaveh had only reached up to pull Alhaitham's collar close.

His lips were beautifully pink and soft, they lifted into a sweet smile. The sun shined his golden hair, brightening his entire face into a lovely painting. Alhaitham's blush settled, he let out a long sigh and leaned his head into Kaveh's nape.

His gentle breaths could be felt by Kaveh, eventually, he let out a giggle and wrapped his arms around Alhaitham's back. Squeezing him tightly, they both at that moment felt a flutter of warmth in their chests. Unable to let go.
