Chapter Three

Bright moon Pack house

Valerie stood next to Natalia, who was wearing a low cut dress to show off her mark. It was an beautiful marking, with swirls in a circle. Valerie rolled her eyes. "Why do you have to wear such things, Nat?" Natalia laughed.

"And why do you covers yours up?" Valerie's mark was a little more simple, just a tribal design. Valerie and Natalia walked over to the back of the crowd. The pack was told to dress nice for the visiting Alpha.

Most people were wearing their church clothes, but Valerie was wearing a simple white summer dress. Natalia was wearing a red, low cut casual dress with a plunging neckline.

It was obvious, Natalia thought her mate was going to be here. "Natalia do you really think he's going to be here?" Natalia nodded.

"Yes, Val. I just feel it, it's hard to describe. It's like little butterflies-"

"Swarming in your stomach, and your wolf is howling with excitement?" Natalia nodded at Valerie's statement.

"Do you think it could be Alpha Tanner?" Valerie shook her head.

"No" she whispered. "I'm not strong enough to be Luna." Valerie truly believed that. She wasn't as strong like her father, and she wasn't as selfless like her mother. She wasn't strong enough to be a Luna, but Natalia was.

"Don't say that Val. your stronger than almost anyone I know. You handled Summers eve-" She was cut off by Alpha Bane walking up on the make shift stage.

"Thank you all for coming. I will now hand things over to Alpha Blake." Everyone clapped, but no one cheered. We all knew what he was capable of.

Alpha Tanner and another young man, who Valerie presumed to be the Beta, and a young woman, who was probably Tanner's mate. Valerie couldn't help but feel sorry for that girl.

Alpha Tanner was a sight, with his Midnight black hair, and bright amber eyes. He was probably a foot or more taller than Valerie.

He was wearing a black shirt that clung to his muscles, which matched his black jeans, and black combat boots. Valerie couldn't wait until she could take a look at those muscles. She shook her head and whispered "Woah Val. Calm down." Nat sucked in her breath.

"Mine" she growled. Valerie looked up. The other man said the same thing. Alpha Tanner motioned. Natalia dragged me with her, and I tried to resist. When they got there Alpha Tanner looked into her eyes.

"Mine." He growled, and Valerie's wolf started to become restless. It took all of Valerie's strength not to melt into a puddle right then and there. He was voice was haven, and his scent was amazing. He smelled like woods and rain.

He turned back to the crowd. "My Healer, James Callahan, and Myself have found out mates." He motioned us to introduce ourselves. Natalia went first, since I was still in shock from finding my mate, and finding out they have a healer.

"I am Natalia Kane, Mate of James Callahan, Healer of the Dark Moon Pack." She placed her hand on Valerie's shoulder, and she stepped forward.

"I am Valerie Evans, mate of Tanner Blake, Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack." Everyone gasped. Alpha Bane frowned.

"Girls, why dont you go wait in my office" Tanner growled. "Don't growl at me Blake. They need to let the news sink in, especially Valerie." Alpha Tanner nodded, motined the girl he brought with him to follow, and the girls walked towards Alpha Banes office.

Valerie being the last one in the room shut the door. The Dark Wood girl smiled at both of them.

"I'm am Mika, Beta of the dark moon pack. Congrats on both of your mateships." she turned to Natalia. "Natalia Kane right?" she waited for Natalia to nod before continuing. "James is an amazing man, and an even more amazing healer. He is a workaholic, but I don't think you'll have a problem with that."

She looked at Valerie. "Valerie Evans. You my dear are going to have your plate full with Tanner. He is cold, he is unemotional, and sometimes he can be downwright cruel. He means well though."

She sighs. "5..4..3..2...1.." Tanner came walking in with James in tow.

"Mika call Micheal. Check on the westlands. Rouges have been spotted lately." She nods. "Ohh and call your mother. She has been worried sick."
He talked as if he were buying socks, no emotion in his voice.

Mika smiled at the Alpha. "Ja, you got it boss." her blue eyes sparkled with amusement.

Alpha Tanner turned to James . "Take Natalia to Bane's other office." James nodded.

"Yes sir" he said. There was something weird about james, besides the fact he was a healer. He looked to much like Tanner.

James quickly pulled Natalia out of there. Valerie turned her attention back to Alpha Tanner. He looked even more attractive up close. He had claw marks on his neck that went slightly up onto his cheek. She didn't notice them before. It took all her willpower no to touch them. She looked up into his golden eyes.

" Are you done staring yet." Valerie blushed and looked down.

"S-sorry." she whispered. He growled.

"Look at me." her eyes went to hic chest. "Look me in the eyes." Valerie didn't respond. "Now" Valerie took a step back for every step he took towards her until she was backed against the wall. He grabbed her chin, ignoring the sparks, and turned her face to his. Green met gold.

"It looks like im stuck with you, runt, and I will not accept a mate who doesnt neet my eyes. Do you understand?" Valerie nods. Tanner let go. "Good. We leave this time tomarrow." Tanner stormed out of the room, leaving Valerie trying her best not to cry, but failing.
