The Way the Sun Rises

Chapter 4

Valerie and Natalia both woke up early to say goodbye to everyone. The whole time Valerie could feel Alpha Blake watching her. When it was finnaly time to go the only people left to say goodbye to was the Alpha couple of the Bright Moon pack.

Jeremy Bane, Alpha of the Bright moon pack smiled at the girls and hugged them. He whispered into Valerie's ear "every sunrise brings soemthing new." before he left his mate Darrline to say her goodbyes. After it was done Valerie and Natalia
Got settled into the car.

Valerie was up front with Tanner and Natalia in the back with James and Mika. The ride was quiet. James and Natalia were asleep in the back.

"Tanner, whats your pack like?" Valerie asked to break the silence. The Alpha growled.

"It's Alpha Blake to you." he sighed before continuing. "They're mostly warriors, but they mean well." was all he said. Valerie sneaked a glance at Alpha Blake. His hands were almost white from gripping the steering wheel.

Valerie couldn't help but wonder why he was so mean. Valerie heard Natalia stir in the back seat. A few seconds later her stomach growled. James sighed and asked the Alpha if they could stop and eat.

Without a word Alpha Blake got off the highway and stopped at a Wendy's. Valerie looked around. She reconized this place. She felt the vampires around her. Even though it was midday the older vampires could stand the sun, with the help of a pureblood.

"Alpha Blake we need to go." Valerie said.

"I smell them." Alpha Blake growled. "They wont let us leave. Were gonna have to fight them." Valerie growled. James and Mika were suprised, but not as suprised as Alpha Blake.

"This is the territory of the Rayn Blackrose, one of the Royal family of vampires. These bloodsuckers arent his." Valerie sighed. And took a knife from her boot. Alpha Blake growled at her and she smiled at him. She steped out of the car before he could grab her. She then proceded to cut her arm in three places.

The vampires swarmed around her. They seemed not to hear the growling of the car. Valerie turned her head to see james holding Alpha Blake back. Within moments A boy about 8 was standing there leaning against the Wendy's. His eyes were red, his fangs were extended.

"Leave." he commanded. They laughed at him. He sighed and closed his eyes. He started to grow. It wasnt a pretty sight, Bones growing, skin stretching. If Valerie wasnt used to it she moght have hurled. Once he was done he looked about 25. He was a head taller than Alpha blake. Valerie didnt even reach his shoulder.

Mika growled what sounded like mate and Valerie smiled. " These Wolves are under my protection." the vampires backed up and fled. Rayn turned to Valerie. His eyes going back to their chestnut brown.

She smiled at him and played with her dress. " Valerie." he let out a growl that would have done any wolf justice. "What have I told you?"

"That vampires like blood and if im going to call you try your cellphone first so the vampires dont want to eat me as quickly" Valerie said like a little kid who was in trouble.

"I didnt raise you so you could die by a vampires hand." he turned to Mika. Alpha Blake growled and Valerie smiled.

"It looks like your stuck with me." he smiled warmly at her. "My name is Rayn Blackrose, Crown Prince of the Vampires."
