The Way the Sun Rises

Chapter 5

Mika was shocked to say the least. A vampire, werewolf mate pair? Only the vampire and Valerie didnt seem suprised which struck Mika odd.

Why wasnt Valerie suprised? Rayn and Tanner were staring at each other, trying to establish dominance. Valerie sighed. "Rayn why dont you take us to your home. I am sure Mika would love to see it. Right Mika?" Valerie asked. Her words sounded as if she was warning Zayn. Mika  nodded wondering how this man before her was just the size of an eight year old. How old was he?  Did vampires have that kind of ability?

Rayn sighed like he knew what Mika was thinking. "I am a pureblood. We have ah..certain abilities others might not have." he took a deep breath and started to change back to the size of an eight year old. His bones cracked, his skin stretched over him. Everyone but Valerie and the Alpha cringed. Once he was done Rayn looked at Valerie worried.

"Do something about that will ya. Tate is home" he pointed the the cut on her wrist as he got in the car. Valerie followed Zayn back into the car. She turned to the Alpha. "Wheres the-" she stopped talking when he grabbed her arm. The First aid kit was in his lap and he started to treat the cut. Muttering words like 'Damn silver" and "Damn Vampire."

He then turned to Valerie and growled. "Never do that again" he  whispered but it sounded like he was had yelled. No one moved and no one talked. Until Rayn who had positioned himself onto Mika's lap spoke up. "He is right Valerie. What if it had been Thom?" Alpha Blake stiffened.

"You mean Thomas the vampire, killer or wolves?" Rayn nodded and smile. "So you know of my son, Thom was raised alongside your precious little mate. She even was braved enough to-" Valerie cut him off.

"Rayn enough. The past is the past. Lets just go home. Im sure Mimi is worried by now." Rayn nodded. Alpha Blake reluctantly started the car and followed Rayn's directions.

It took roughly 10 minuets to get to Rayn's house, which was a old mansion built in the victoran era. It hadnt changed much since it had been built. Valerie stepped out of the car Natalia and Mika both glaring at her, trying to figure out how she knew Rayn.

Valerie just smiled and let the cold air surrond her. Mimi, who was Valerie's wet nurse; and who had been employed by Rayn's family since she was old enough to hold a frying pan and a mop, ran out of the house. "Valerie dear. You havent grown an inch since you left" Valerie smiled. Despite being blind Mimi always knew what was going on.

"I suppose the tall gentleman leaning of the car is your mate, and the others your friends." Valerie nodded. Charles, Mimi's mate came out of the stables cleaning his hands on a rag.

He was quite the opposite to Mimi. He was thin and had sharp features unlike Mimi's round ones. He wore a green rain coat and riding gear. He was Rayn's stablemaster and handyman. "Valerie my dear" he smiled at her and Valerie ran to hug him. Alpha Blake growled. "Uncle Charles" she exlaimed he pulled her into a hug. Then she heard The voice she so much dreaded "welcome home Valerie" she turned to the voice and growled. "Tate nice to see you" Then Valerie's world went black.
