Scott POV:
It was finally the end of the day and Scott was so happy that he practically skipped into the locker room despite what had just gone down on the field.
How could he not be pumped?
It was the last day of the best week of Scott's life! He had met his soulmate, made first line not to mention co-captain, aced two tests, earned a spot at the popular table, and finally got up the nerve to ask Allison to the party tonight. She hadn't exactly said yes, though... Lydia had decided it would be best if they all ditched the party and went bowling instead. How had she put it?
'Greenburg's party is super lame anyways. Last year there wasn't even enough keg for me to forget what happened.'
But Scott didn't mind. He was still going to be with Allison tonight, and that was all he cared about.
But it almost felt wrong to feel too happy, with Stiles smelling all depressed. Yes, smelling all depressed. He was still cracking jokes and acting like his normal sarcastic self, but he completely reeked of disappointment and rejection and- just pretty much every case of teenage angst out there.
Lydia and Jackson pranced around school just like they always had; they were still the #1 couple. There seemed to be nothing different about the way Lydia felt about Jackson or Stiles, but Scott just couldn't accept that she could love someone more than her soulmate.
Yesterday, he had tried to catch a whiff of her emotions during lunch.
Scott and Stiles had only sat down for a good five minutes before Stiles had had enough of the "love birds". He had grabbed his lunch tray and moved to Boyd's table without another word- well, Boyd and Erica's table now - but that's besides the point.
When Lydia had watched him get up and move Scott swore he saw something like guilt flash in her eyes. But as soon as he picked up on it, it had disappeared, so Scott tried to smell for it instead. Sadly, her perfume was really good at covering up whatever he thought he sensed and all he got was a couple weird looks from their table.
He excused himself after that.
Lost in thought, Scott didn't even hear Jackson come up next to his locker until it was too late. When Jackson slammed his locker shut he wished he could've said something clever or witty to cover up his surprise but the only thing that came to his mind was the realization of how much Jackson resembled a Ken doll.
"Alright little man, how about you tell me where you're getting your juice," Jackson said with a set look on his face as he rolled his shoulder. He was pissed from sitting out for the rest of practice.
'if looks could kill' thought Scott.
Ever since yesterday, when coach had announced that they would be the co-captains this year, Jackson had been especially angry towards Scott.
Scott had been trying his best to stay calm but today, on the field, he couldn't stand it anymore. Not after Jackson had actually pushed him onto the ground. Scott remembered seeing all red and in a flash, the other co-captain was on the ground cradling his arm.
In all fairness, he hadn't meant to dislocate his shoulder, he couldn't help it. That was the scary part. Scott hadn't lost control like that since the middle of summer.
Scott blinked, "What?"
"Where. Are. You. Getting. Your. Juice?"
Scott's brain was completely fried from the school day.
He furrowed his eyebrows and looked at Jackson like he was crazy, "My mom does all the grocery shopping."
"You think this is funny?!" Jackson looked pissed, "There is no way you're kicking ass out there without some sort of boost!"
