Rebecca could not believe her ears.
"You.. do know that I have an Output, right?" Y/N said.
How did she not know this? She wrongly assumed that he was single during their time together, and failed to ask him about his past. Fuck, they met too early. She didn't even know when the other bitch would fuck off so that she could reclaim her place as hers, and hers alone.
She swallowed the nasty response that was just on the tip of her tongue before flashing him a fake smile, "Obviously a hunk like you would have someone."
Her brain hurt just saying that, and the corner of her lips twitched in annoyance.
"... Good, good. Just lettin' ya know."
They were currently sitting at a bench at Corpo Plaza, just a few hours after she tracked him down at the Academy. She had managed to trick him into knowing him from David. Something about a suggestion of chrome. It was a stupid reason, but it worked somehow. So she didn't really question it.
"You know, we could use a Ripperdoc. And from what I know, you're a fucking good one."
"I don't know.. I don't think I'm suited for that kind of life. Besides, my parents are Corpos. I'm not exactly strapped for eddies. And I can't really aim that well."
This was the Y/N she knew alright. His aim was fucking terrible, but that was what she was for, wasn't it?
"That's finee. You don't gotta start now. You're graduating soon right? Planning to open a clinic? I'll definitely swing by for some upgrades. Just give me a discount, ya hear?"
Y/N chuckled, and her heart skipped a beat.
She never had to chance to apologize for that god damned night, but she was understandably angry. It still hurt her that he went to face off against Smasher without telling her. But the more she thought about it, the more she started to see things from his perspective.
At least, she thought she did.
But that doesn't matter anymore. Somehow, she had returned to the past.
And she wouldn't let this chance go to waste. She still had some time before shit started to get real, and if she remembered correctly, this was where David would beg the crew for help on improving his skills.
"It's getting late, I got to make it to class. Maybe I'll see you again?"
Rebecca grinned, "Definitely. I'll call you. See you soon, choom."
Y/N gave her a thumbs up before standing up and heading to the academy. He didn't know why, but she was really making him feel.. things. He looked back to see that Rebecca was watching him, and gave him a wink when he looked back.
