You stumbled through the door of your apartment, unfortunately, it wasn't your apartment. Neo glared before softening her gaze. You looked up weakly.
"Oh! Neo. I'm sorry. . I'll go." You say weakly, turning around to leave but fell in her doorway.
'What's wrong with him?!' Neo thought, rushing to your aid. 'He's not one to be drunk.'
The moment Neo's hands made contact with you, she knew immediately that you were ill. She grabbed your arm and dragged you to her bed, where she laid you down before measuring your temperature.
'Y/N, you're dangerously ill! What happened?' Neo asked, in her mind knowing that you could hear her. 'It's Christmas!'
You nodded lightly. "It was.. that rubbish mission. Explore a swamp. So glad I took that." You say weakly.
'Don't speak, you imbecile! I can hear your thoughts if they're directed to me.'
"... What? How do I do that?" She rolled her eyes. Perhaps not.
'Never mind. Rest here. I'll make you some soup.'
She headed for the kitchen and placed a pot on the stove, not forgetting to fill it with water. She set it on to low and headed back to check on you.
"Neo. . Why am I here. . ?" You asked softly, your eyes droopy and tired.
'You walked into the wrong apartment.'
"Did I. . ? Are you. . Are you sure you're not in mine?"
She couldn't help but smile. 'Silly Y/N.'
'Yes, Y/N. I'm pretty sure you're in my apartment. Yours is down the hall.'
"O-Oh. . Let. . Let me get back, then. ." You say softly, getting up.
Neo rushed to you and gently pushed you back down on the bed. 'Y/N, you're ill! You can't possibly go home by yourself.'
"But. . I-I can't intrude on you like this. Ill or not, I'm still intruding. ."
'Shut up and rest. Your soup is getting ready.'
She hurried back to the kitchen, where the pot was boiling gently. She pranced around the kitchen, grabbing ingredients for a chicken soup.
"Neo. . . ?" You called out softly.
She turned and hurried to you. 'Y/N, I told you to stay in bed!'
She helped you back to her bed, before laying you back down. 'I'll tie you down if you stand up again.'
You nodded slightly, not wanting to be tied up. She smiled and headed back to the kitchen, returning only five minutes after with a warm bowl of soup.
'Drink this slowly. It'll help with your fever.' She says. 'And since you're ill, I'll be spoon feeding you.'
You shook your head. "It's alright, Neo. You don't have to do that."
'Shut up. Let me feed you.'
It was useless trying to say otherwise, so you just kept quiet. She took the spoon and and blew on it gently before shoving it in your mouth.
You swallowed the soup. It was sweet, yet savoury. Strange. Neo put another scoop of soup into your mouth. Slowly, but surely. You finished the bowl of soup. Neo nodded in content with a smile and placed it on the side.
'Now go to sleep. Christmas is tomorrow. Literally. And you're here being all sick. Do you know the gift I got for you? I worked so hard for it. You better have gotten something good.'
You gulped. You haven't gotten something for Neo. You wanted to use the night to go and purchase something meaningful for her. But you had to end up sick.
"But. . I . . need to go . . home." You managed out.
Neo shook her head. 'Nonsense. You stay right here until you're fine. I will inform Roman about you.'
"No!. . If he knows. . I'm here. He'll do more than just get mad." You say.
'He won't. You have my word.'
Neo stood up and brought the covers up to you. It was dark out, and you were on Neo's bed. So she opted to sleep on the couch.
'Five minutes until the clock strikes twelve. I'll be right back with your gift.'
She left the room and you sighed. You were already feeling bad from stealing her bed, and making her go through the worry of you being sick. Yet you don't even have a present for her. However. .
Neo returned the with gift. It was small, but you knew if it came from her it was precious. She sat on the side of the bed and turned to face you.
'I will wait for your gift. You'll receive mine first.'
You felt so bad, you had to tell her. "Neo, I-"
The clock sounded. It was midnight. Neo brought her hands together and squealed, but the squealing part was in your head. She handed it to you.
'Tell me if you can't open it.'
You took the package and sat up before tearing it open. It was a brown box. You lifted the cover.
It was a pendant. With the first initial of your name engraved in a pink jewel of some sort. You smiled.
"It's beautiful. . Thank you."
Neo blushed and took the box, placing it on the bedside table. 'I'm glad you liked it.'
You cupped her chin, taking her by surprised. You gazed into her eyes, as she did to yours, a hint of blush on her cheeks.
"I'll be honest, I don't have a gift. This night was supposed to get you one, but I'm sick." You say.
Neo wanted to say something, but you cut her off.
"No, scratch that. I do have a gift. Here's mine." You say, before leaning in and giving a gentle kiss on her lips. She tensed, not knowing what was going on, but relaxed into it as quickly as she did.
The kiss lasted for a good minute, before you pulled away. Her face was much more red now, and her eye looked like hearts.
'That's.... much better than my gift.' She hugged you.
"I thought it was obvious, but, I really like you, Neo." You said softly.
She slid into the covers next to you and pecked your cheek.
'It was obvious. I just didn't expect you to do confess like this. And thanks for the sickness I'll eventually get.'
You smiled as Neo cuddled next to you.
'I like you too, Y/N. My sick Y/N.'
