Hey. It's Ruby. Now you're wondering. Why am I talking to myself? I guess you could say it's about a boy. This boy. . he's special. Not that cliché kind of special, oh you get my point. He's unlike others.

I come from a abusive family. Yang and I barely get through without bruises. She hides it more easier than I do. Always shrugging it off to her friends. Me? Not so simple. Yang has the natural ability to make friends with anyone around her.

I don't have that. I guess I'm the lesser of us sisters. Yang has many admirers. Both male and female. I don't understand how she manages to channel all that pain to become the social butterfly that she is.

Then there's Y/N. Oh Y/N. Words can't explain how wonderful of a person he is. He doesn't attract attention when he doesn't want to. And that's most of the time.

We met in a coffee shop. It was cold out, and I could barely afford a jacket for myself. I was using Yang's worn one. I walked into the shop, not looking to get anything at all. Mainly because I had no money. All mother and father paid for was for our school.

The coffee shop itself was.. fairly empty. I remember there being the strong scent of something burning. I thought there was a fire, and I was fairly scared. Suddenly, Y/N came running out of the kitchen.

"Oi! You almost burned down the kitchen, idiot. We don't even serve actual food!" Y/N sighed.

Keep in mind, this was when I haven't met Y/N yet. So you could guess my confusion on what was happening. All I was doing was warming myself in front of the fireplace. And then, he turned to me.

"Sorry about that. Some people don't know how to follow instructions." He says, glaring at the kitchen before smiling back at me.

I couldn't help but laugh. "I can see that."

"What can I get for you?" He asks, leaning forward unto the counter.

At that moment, my stomach growled. I grin sheepishly, scratching the back of my head. "S-Sorry."

He laughed. His laughter could brighten my mood even if I was feeling low.

"It's alright! Like I've so politely said, we don't actually serve food. We do, however, have pastries. Cookies, to cakes."

I remember my mouth watering at the thought. But I shook my head. "N-No thanks. I.. don't really have money. I just came to warm myself up. It's freezing out there."

He raised an eyebrow, which further confused me. "What?"

He walked around the counter and sat next on the beanbag across me. Thinking about it, I have no idea why they have a beanbag. It's a coffee shop.

"You must have a story. I can see it in your eyes." He smiled. "I'm Y/N, by the way."

"My name is Ruby." I responded.

A male's voice called for him from the kitchen. He sighed and stood up.

"Looks like you'll have to wait for a bit. Don't worry. Food is on me. All I ask is your story." He says, leaving me alone.
