Jennifer experimented with the ammunition pickups, realising by the third that she only needed to snap them in half by hand to reliably open them. When she came to the brownie, she burst out in laughter at how absurd it was that they had programmed a brownie into the virtual world alongside nothing but weapons.
It tasted rich, and had a wonderful texture. Jennifer giggled uncontrollably with each bite, loving the completely surreal experience. When she had finished she loaded the spare ammunition into the holster's clips and the gun itself. As she looked at the three speedloaders she had no way to carry without her hands she heard a commotion outside.
She warily opened the back door by the slightest margin and saw a man crash to the ground, smearing blood across the road as he rolled over onto his back. A man walked calmly into view, kicking the downed competitor's handgun across the street before looking down the sights of his own and firing a single round that turned him to dust.
Jennifer leant back, keeping in her breath as the man continued down the street. She was unclipping her gun from it's holster as the first of six more people passed and she discarded any hope of defending herself. Despite her fears, they simply continued onwards to whatever destination they had in mind.
After a long time of waiting, Jennifer took her first careful steps out onto the street. The crunch beneath her feet almost made her clench hard enough to fire the gun right into her foot. She knelt down and picked up the page, looking at it in genuine confusion. Little boxes marked with numbers and letters, occasionally split apart from one another by gaps almost at random. Jennifer took a moment before her eyes widened in realisation. "A map!"
