Lex walked through the barren apartment building, passing by doorways with little more than an idle glance. Her mind wandered as she searched in silence, about her father and Eli and even why she was here. "Did I want to do this?" she asked herself aloud as her hands moved swiftly through the crate's meagre offerings. As she turned to the doorway to the hall she heard the sound of much less careful searchers approaching.

One of the group peered inside Lex's room, choking as she drove the side of her hand into his throat and dragged him into the room. She ripped the man's combat knife from it's sheathe and pressed it into his neck. "Quiet now," Lex instructed her prisoner as she unholstered her submachine gun.

She counted as people rushed past her doorway. One, two... five of them, and her prisoner was six. It was then that she heard the gunfire coming from outside and manhandled her prisoner over to the window to get a better look.

There was Eli, the idiot had gotten himself into a firefight with more than a dozen people in a warehouse across the road from her. "Nigel, we've gotta move!" yelled a voice from behind. Lex turned her prisoner around, letting him take the burst of startled gunfire from his ally.

Desperately reloading, the new enemy was absolutely unprepared as Lex sprinted through the green dust of his former comrade and drove her newly aquired knife through his chest and twisted it into a lung between the ribs. Lex turned her skewered victim down the hallway towards the rest of the group and slapped his assault rifle out of his hand with her own gun's handle.

Three men burst out of seperate rooms, coming out ready to fight. The first took a large burst of gunfire to the chest and collapsed to the ground in dust. Lex moved fluidly, sliding the knife out and back in through her shield's heart before she dove into a doorway just in time to avoid the retaliation. She had a new magazine in her SMG as soon as she had scrabbled onto her feet.

Lex slid over the window cill, holding onto the ledge with one hand as she returned her gun to it's holster with the other before gripping onto it with both. She slowly shifted herself across the ledge, pulling herself up into the adjoining room through it's own window.

She landed roughly on her side in the new room, quickly pushing herself back onto her feet and retrieving the submachine gun. She slid out into the hallway smoothly, bringing up the SMG and firing two neat rounds into the back of her pursuit's heads.

Easy. Lex smiled to herself as she took a moment to apreciate her victory, not noticing the man creeping up behind her that she had lost count of. She yelled out as she rifle butt slammed into her shoulder blades, flooring her.

Dazed, Lex tried to push herself back onto her feet. She recieved another blow to her back for the effort. She heard growling, and immediately threw herself to the side. She saw the rifle butt slam down into the concrete hard enough to sent dust flying upwards where her head was not a moment before.

Lex struck with all of her strength, driving her foot into the attacker's knee hard enough to bend it backwards. While the man screamed out in pain, she got up and snatched his rifle away. The man hit the ground hard after Lex's powerful roundhouse punch. Remembering Eli, she quickly took the man's bandolier and slammed the rifle butt down on his face hard enough to kill, sending him off as dust.

She wasn't sure exactly why she thought she should help. Maybe it was to get some more kills in and thin out the enemy... or maybe she was truly obsessed with Eli even now. Regardless of motivation, looked down the scope and fired her first shot.
