Chapter 7: My old, giant friend Jim

///Sorry if the previous chapter was rushed, I actually wrote it and published it at 3 am last night, I promise the next chapters will be more detailed and a little shorter because of time restrictions.\\\

I woke up and found myself in my room, the sun had set and I could hear crickets chirp and pterodactyls roar and fly above.
I quickly assessed the damage to my body and realized that healing paste had been applied to the injuries on my body, I was fully healed, well except for my sail which only had its bottom part left. I got up on 2 legs but couldn't balance myself, I guess my sail helped me to balance when I stood on 2 legs, so I walked out into the main room, Hollowjack and Gigant were sitting there, eating one of the Alpha indoms (which apparentlyHollowjack had cooked). The looked okay except for being grim. They saw me and Hollowjack said "Thank God your alive, come eat with us". Gigant also said "Oh you look terrible, how are you feeling?". I walked up to them and said "I am fine, just the sail that's hurting."

I sat down next to them and also started to eat, Hollowjack said "Spinebreaker, I have some bad news, I'm afraid your sail is going to be gone, permanently". I stopped eating, he could not be serious, he was joking, wasn't he? I asked to be sure. Instead of Hollowjack, Gigant replied "Yes we're sure Spinebreaker, we tried the healing paste but it didn't work, I am sorry. I sat there in shock, now sure for the most part it was useless, but it helped me look stronger and better, it helped me to balance on 2 legs and it also helped me to properly swim. But I did not want the other 2 to worry about my wellbeing, so I shrugged and said "Well sooner or later it would have been ripped off, considering I get into a load of fights, its not a problem". Gigant replied "Spinebreaker, friend, its okay to be sad or mad, even to cry, this is a huge thing that does not happen usually, this is is a war crime, to tear off or permanently damage that important of a body part is a war crime according to the laws of ARK". Hollowjack also said "Yes, brother what Gigant is saying is true. Let your emotions out, you will feel better that way. " I replied "No seriously, I'm fine, and anyways tomorrow Lord Spyro is visiting us tomorrow, I'm sure he will know what to do.

Gigant said "Well if you are really fine, and not hurting..." "Yes I'm fine, don't worry about me" I interrupted him. "well than we are glad as well" Hollowjack finished Gigant's sentence "Now eat up and go to sleep both of you, I will take first watch". I wanted to argue, but my sail was starting to hurt and my eyes were getting droopy, so i just yawned and followed Gigant into my room, there we laid on the hay and as soon as i closed my eyes, I fell asleep.

I woke up early next morning ( 6 20am) because some doucebag pteranadon shitted on me while flying, these dinos have no shame, I got up and went to the river to clean up, all while cursing and swearing to find that pteranadon and to torture him, a totally definitely normal way to wake up.

Anyways, after taking a bath I decided to go back to the lake and check out how well I could swim. I reached the lake in 10 minutes and without thinking, just dived in.

Now normally I slowly walk into the lake, but this time I just straight up ran in. The water was cold, really really cold. But this was good as it freshened me up. I could see fish running away from me, but I didn't give chase, why should I? I already had delicious food at home.

I tried to swim, and I did to some extent, but I couldn't swim perfectly. Saddened, I walked out of the lake, only to find a brontosaurus there, he was blackish brownish in colour with a little bit of blue in the eyes. I went towards him only to find out he was one of my neighbours, Jim. He was massive, being a brontosaurus helped with that. His head was in the water so when he came back, he was soo shocked to see me that he could have practically jumped (if his body weight and gravity allowed him too).

Jim said "Spinebreaker, man you scared me, How are you old chap?" I replied "I've been better, as you can see, my sail is missing" Jim replied "Yeah man I've noticed, don't worry I won't ask the reason, you have your privacy, I have mine". Now this, this was the main reason I didn't challenge and kill Jim for territory, and also partially maybe because of the rules set up my Lord Spyro on how much territory a creature could own, but mainly the first reason.

I replied "Thanks man, hey, have you seen Rocky, he is usually here, but has not appeared yet. Has something happened?" If you don't know, Rocky is a Yutyrnaus who actually owns a part of the massive lake, he borders both my territory and Jim's territory, all three of us have become allies of sort [search 'Yutyranus ARK' if confused]. Jim looked at me for a moment and said "You didn't hear what happened?" I started to get scared. What could have happened, so I asked "What happened?" Jim shook his head and replied "He has gone to the Dino care area, apparently he was attacked by an Apex creature, but he managed to defend himself and his family, though he got hurt in the process, the poor man, did you here he has a 3 summers old daughter, the effect this may have had on her..." I stopped listening, poor Rocky, he must have been attacked by the Apex indom, the fact that he had survived made me realize his actual strength, anyone who could take down an Apex indom, even an Apex in general, had my respect and friendship.

I told him "Oh no, that poor guy, I hope he is fine, unfortunately I have a hard day today so please wish me luck. Oh and say hello to little Tim for me will you?" Jim replied "Sure buddy and Good luck and good bye".

I said goodbye and ran back as fast as my four legs let me. I had to tell this to Hollowjack and Gigant, and maybe even Lord Spyro later. So I ran home, hoping that everything would be fine and that the universe would not mess up this day, as you are about to find out soon, I was very very wrong.
