Rosanna struggles against the binds on her hands. She's tied to a chair in a dim-lit concrete room. There's a single light bulb above her head. She sits in front of a table.
In the room to her left she can hear Merle, talking to Glenn. In the room to her right, she hears grunting and can only assume it's Archer trying to get out of their predicament.
She tries to listen in on what's happening to her left.
"You were an asshоlе out there, just like you were on that rooftop back there in Atlanta. What y'all did, leaving me up there-- people wouldn't do that to an animal." Merle says.
"We went back for you." Glenn says. His voice is raspy.
Merle scoffs. "Ain't you thoughtful?"
"We did, all of us-- Rick, Daryl, Rose, T-Dog."
"Mm, T-Dog. Yeah, big ol' spear-chucker, the one I was pleading with. Mm-hmm, the one that dropped the key. Tell me where he's at. I'm sure T-Dog would like to bury the hatchet, let bygones be bygones." Merle says with a laugh.
There's a pause and she hears Glenn speak again. "He didn't make it."
"Well, I hope he went slow. Yeah. How about the rest? Hmm? How about my baby brother? You can't tell me he's alive and then hold off on where he is." There's no response. "No? Well, maybe sugar tits will help me out."
She hears footsteps moving around in the room and Merle's voice speaks again. "Tell me something-- when she's scared and she's holding you close, and her trembling skin is close to you, her soft lips are touching you here, all over here, and over here... feels good, don't it? I remember you. Yeah. You're the sneaky one, the one with nerve. You don't scare easy, do you? I like that. Now... I wanna know where my brother is. I wanna know where the sheriff is."
She hears a loud thudding noise and can hear Glenn grunt. Rosanna shuts her eyes tight as a chair can be heard scraping against the concrete. Merle may have punched him.
"Now, I wanna know where they're hiding, where your camp is, and I wanna know now. I wanna know now! Where the hell are they? Tell me!"
There's more thudding and Rosanna bites down on the gag in her mouth. She only hopes they can find a way out of here. And soon.
___
Back at the prison, Rick and the others surround a young black woman who showed up at the fence line, carrying a basket of formula and Rosanna's sword.
Rick kneels down to face the woman who leans against the concrete inside the cell block. "We can tend to that wound for you, give you a little food and water, and then send you on your way. But you're gonna have to tell us how you found us and why you were carrying one of our weapons and all that formula."
"The supplies were dropped by a young Asian guy, a tall guy, and a pretty redhead." She says, stone-faced.
Maggie steps forward. Her face pale at the thought of her boyfriend and best friends. "What happened? Were they attacked?"
The woman shakes her head. "They were taken."
Hershel adjusts his grip on the crutches. "Taken? By who?"
"By the same son of a bitch who shot me."
Rick tries grabbing her arm, but she spits in his face. Daryl grinds his teeth together. "Look, you came here for a reason."
She sighs. "There's a town. Woodbury. About 75 survivors. I think they were taken there. It's run by this guy who calls himself the Governor-- pretty boy, charming, Jim Jones type."
"He got muscle?" Rick asks.
"Paramilitary wannabes. They have armed sentries on every wall." She says.
Daryl rubs his eye impatiently. "You know a way in?"
She nods. "The place is secure from walkers, but we could slip our way through."
Rick pinches the bridge of his nose in thought. "How'd you know how to get here?"
She looks up at him through her dreadlocks. "They mentioned a prison, said which direction it was in, that it was a straight shot."
Rick nods, standing up. "This is Hershel. He'll take care of that wound for you."
___
Merle's voice echoes from the other room. Rosanna is sweating from trying to remove her hands from the zip-tie. Her wrists are raw.
"I gotta hand it to you, you're a lot tougher than I remember. No surprise you lasted this long. Shoot, I figured the way Officer Friendly abandoned people, he would have left you behind by now. But he didn't do that, did he? Hmm. So, tell me, where y'all been at? It's just a matter of time before they come looking. I'll bake a cake with pink frosting. Would they like that? Ain't nobody coming."
"Rick is, and when he gets here-" Glenn says.
Merle scoffs again. "He's gonna do nothing, not if he wants you men and Bo Peep back."
Glenn's voice gets deeper and lower. He's trying to intimidate him. "You can't take us all. There's too many of us. We've been on the road, not hiding in some dungeon. Rick, Shane, Dale, Jim, Andrea."
Merle laughs this time. "Really? Is that right?"
The door slams shut and the room next to her goes silent for a moment. Minutes pass when suddenly she hears the door fly open and Merle speak to Glenn again.
"All righty, I want you to imagine how I felt fighting my way off that roof-- one hand, losing blood, walkers chomping down at me every step of the way. Last chance. Where's your group? All right. Suit yourself. You're a pretty big snack for this fella. But you know what they say-- he's gonna be hungry again in an hour."
Groaning is from the other room. There's a snapping sound and the door slams shut again. She hears Glenn grunting and things flying across the room.
Merle threw a walker inside Glenn's cell. She can only listen helplessly as she hears the love of her life fight against a walker. He's probably tied to a chair just like she is.
Suddenly it goes silent, and Rosanna's breath hitches in her throat. "Glenn?" She tries shouting, muffled against her gag.
There's silence for a second before he replies. "I'm okay."
