Chapter 8

By the end of the day, Lisa was even more drained than the previous night, most of the guests had left already, including Jisoo and Jennie, who were off on their honeymoon already. The backyard was a mess, but that was a problem for tomorrow morning because right now Lisa was quite content, tucked against Rosé's side, chatting with Suzy.

She could do without the teasing though, but even that was making her smile.

"Look at you, Manager Manoban, I never thought I'd see you like this," Suzy teased, nodding her head at the way she was nestled against Rosé.

"Shut it, Min," Lisa grinned, she was pretty sure it was the alcohol in Suzy talking anyway.

"You're just jealous," Rosé chimed in, sticking her tongue out at Suzy.

Suzy grinned. "Maybe I am."

Lisa laughed as Suzy offered her another drink but Lisa shook her head.

"Come on," Joohyuk said, literally scooping Suzy against his side.

"Let's get you back to the hotel."

"Fiiinnneee," Lucy drawled, but she was still grinning as she left, Jihoon went with them.

Lisa shook her head at Hyorin. "She's your sister."

Hyorin held up her hands. "And I can control her about as well as you can control your sister."

Lisa laughed. "Touché."

It was just the three of them left now, Taeyang was off for handling another emergency. Being in the police was tough.

"I think I'm going to call it a night too," Hyroin said, standing.

Lisa was disappointed, though she'd never admit it, not to Rosé or Hyorin, that that was the last thing she wanted to hear because it meant she was going to have to move from her position tucked against Rosé.

"Good night."

"Night," Rosé and Lisa replied, watching as Hyroin headed inside until it was just two of them left in the backyard. The sunny day had turned into a cloudless night, a blanket of stars now above them. It would be rather romantic, if not for the platonic nature of their relationship.

Lisa tried not to let the dissatisfaction show as Rosé pulled away from her. She was a little bit less unhappy when Rosé extended her hand to her even though there was no one around. Lisa let herself be led inside, upstairs, towards their room.

They pass Hyroin on the way.

"Keep it quiet you two, okay? I'm right next door," Hyroin winked.

Lisa's face went bright red at the implication in her words.

At least she was not the only one blushing as she caught the sight of Rosé's face as they entered the guest room.

It was not until they were both standing in the room, that Lisa realized that tonight was going to be different than the night before because last night she went to bed, Rosé was already asleep but tonight they were both awake and that brought a whole other level of awkwardness to their friendship.

Today felt so much like a date that Lisa sometimes found herself forgetting that it wasn't one.

"Look at that, we made it through the day, and we didn't even need to use 'rice' once."

"We did," Lisa smiled. "Thank you."

"I am worried though."

Lisa frowned. "About what?"

"About your family. They all love me, they're going to be so disappointed when they find out we're not dating anymore."

Lisa was going to be the one most disgruntled by that fact.

"I think they'll survive."

"I don't know," Rosé grinned. "I think they'll be heartbroken."

Lisa rolled her eyes at her dramatic self. "Just get ready for bed, you dork."

"So I call you babe, but you call me a dork? That hurts, Manoban, that hurts."

"Oh my God," Lisa laughed. "Go get ready for bed before I break up with you now."

Rosé chuckled but she at least did as she was told, disappearing down the hallway to get dressed, which was good, because Lisa needed a minute alone.

This was no different than their normal teasing, their relationship had always been like this, easy banter, but the content had changed a little today, and it was making it a little hard to keep things straight in her mind as she reminded herself again that this wasn't real, she was not dating Rosé, they were just friends.
