Steve sighed nervously as he clicked the intercom button on your console. "Hey, it's me." He said and waves at the small camera. Soon the door opens and you welcome him inside. "Wow. This is way better than mine." Even though the two of you had same rooms which were bigger than the one other team members had, with both the doors titled 'Captain's quarters'.
"Is it? I'm still settling in." You point at the unpacked suitcase.
"Yeah. But it is more organised then mine." Steve said.
"Okay." You chuckled, "Let's have dinner, shall we?"
"Yup." Steve said and you led him to the small dining area you had. "Wait." Steve said and came to where you were sitting and grabbed the chair, pulling it back for you.
"Thanks." You said and sat down as Steve pushed the chair.
"Here you go." Steve pushes a plate towards you. "I hope you like it."
You took the plastic fork and took a bite of the food, "Yes. I like it." You said, "The food really is good."
"Yeah. I made it." Steve said and blushed.
"You did?"
"Yeah." Steve said.
"It's really good, Steve." You said. "I had no idea you could cook this well."
"Thanks." Steve smiled, "My ma taught me how to cook." He said, a sad look on his face.
"You really miss her, don't you?" You asked.
"Yeah." Steve said, "I never thought I'd lose her this early in my life."
"I know." You said, "I can most certainly understand how you feel."
"Did you lose your parents?" Steve said.
"Yeah." You nodded, "I was 14 when they died in a car accident along with Tony's parents. We were at his place when his butler came and told us."
"I'm sorry, Y/N." Steve said. His hand held yours on the table and squeezed it gently. "Is that why you and Tony are so close?"
"Yes. Our dads knew each other." You said.
"Same with me and Buck." Steve said, "We are together since we were kids."
"We both had someone." You said.
"And I have you now. If you let me?" Steve asked.
"Yeah." You said and looked at him. Was this even real? The man you had a crush on for years is sitting right in front of you asking you to be his.
"Then I'm yours, sunshine." Steve said and stood up and walked to your side of the table and sat down on his knees, "Will you be my girlfriend, Y/N?"
