Chapter 5

"Good morning, boys." You said as you stepped in the room where Tony was working on his robots.

"Hey there, Captain." Tony said, greeting you with a hug. "How are you?"

"I'm good." You said.

"Something is going on with you. I know it." Tony said, pointing his screwdriver at you.

"Nope." You shook your head, "Nothing is going on. I'm completely fine."

Tony grabbed your arm and took you to a corner away from Peter who was working nearby. "Is it Steve?"

"What?!" You chuckled. "No. It's not."

"Yup. Now I know something happened between you guys." Tony said and gasped, "Wait! Did you guys...?"

"No! Tony." You shut him up immediately. "Nothing like that happened. Okay?"

"Then what? Tell me?" Tony asked.

"We just had a date." You said, "He asked me after our conference and I said yes."

"Oh, congratulations, Y/N." He said and hugged you.

"Just keep it quiet, okay? We haven't told anyone. Only you and Bucky know." You said.

"Yes, Captain." Tony said.

"Fine. How are the machines?" You asked. Going back to the topic on which you wanted to talk on.

"Oh. They're ready." Tony said.

"Okay. And how is J.A.R.V.I.S. 's algorithm?" You asked.

"Almost done. He'll be ready for us to use after we land."

"Okay then." You sighed, "See you later."

"Sure. Bye." Tony said, tapping your shoulder before going back to work.

"Bye, Parker." You said, he was busy on his laptop.

"Oh, hey. Bye, Captain Y/L/N." He turned and waved.

"Just call me Y/N." You tell him stepping out, the doors shutting close behind you. The next place you went to was the live stock section. You were surprised to find Steve sitting on the ground, holding a small golden retriever puppy in his arms, talking to him gently. "Hey, Steve."

He smiled when you sat next to him, "Hi."

"What are you doing here?" You asked.

"Just checking on them. This little guy was crying in his cage so I removed him." Steve said.

"Is he okay?" You asked, scratching the puppy's head.

"Yeah. He looks fine. Just scared I guess. It's not good being trapped in there for a whole day." Steve said.

"Sure isn't." You sighed. "Maybe we should let them out for a little. The babies and small ones."

"Yeah." Steve nodded in response. "Here. Hold him while I let his siblings and mama out."

"Okay." You stood up along with Steve and walked to where the others were, letting them out for some time. You put the puppy down and smiled as he trotted happily towards his mother, barking at her. "They look happy." You sighed, watching the mother checking on her puppies.

"Yeah." Steve said, "We should get someone here to look after them. We have to go the conference room for the call."

"Yeah." You said, "I know someone who would love to be here."

"Who?" Steve asked.

"Peter."

After telling Peter to look after the puppies, you and Steve set off to the call you had with Mission Control. "How is it looking up there?" Nick Fury asked.
