Chapter 3
The cold wind cut Crow's face as he jumped from tree to tree. He could see the lightning ahead. He quickened his pace, being sure everyone else was keeping up. He huffed as he saw the others lagging behind. Crow jumped down, skidding to help break the fall.
"I'm going to wrangle that thing if you guys don't catch up!" Crow yelled. "It'll be years gone if you don't get here!"
Chameleon finally caught up, before whacking Crow on the head lightly.
"First day you get back, and you show off. I like the spirit, Crow," Chameleon huffed out. Felidae ran onto the field, readying his net.
"I'm going to teach you guys how to catch a god!" Felidae yelled over the noise.
"It's not that big, Feli! We've handled worse," Fulmar taunted.
"I'll show you what's worse when we get back!"
"Deal!"
"Fulmar, don't-" Orca started.
"It's ok, dear. I have this one under control," Fulmar comforted.
"That's what I'm afraid of."
Crow grabbed several bottles, as Chameleon readied the pole. Felidae slung his net over a large portion of the lightning cluster, causing it to be caught in the copper.
"We have to hurry with this one! It might get explosive!" Felidae yelled.
Chameleon nodded, ready. Crow stuck a bottle in at the end of the pole, watching as the electricity filled the jar. 'Oddly enough, I think I missed this,' He thought to himself.
They filled all of the bottles they brought this time. Crow lugged all the bottles back to the cottage where they held the lightning. Crow looked to Raven, who was talking to Orca again. Crow rolled his eyes, before hearing someone talk to him.
"Hey, what's up?" Chameleon asked. "Want some help?"
"Yeah, sure," Crow asked, smiling. He handed a tray of bottles to Chameleon.
"It's been a bit since I've carried these. I don't know what to do with my hands now."
"Aye, I could see that. Uhm..."
"What do you like?"
"I-...I don't know. I mean, I play the guitar. Raven gets annoyed with it a lot, though."
"That actually sounds pretty cool. Could you play something sometime?"
"Like, to you?"
"Yeah. We could set up a day where we just hang out."
"Sure! That sounds...That sounds nice."
Chameleon smiled warmly, before going to the door and opening it for Crow. He smiled and nodded, walking inside and putting the bottles on the counter.
Chameleon followed shortly after, putting his tray on Crow's. He went to the kitchen, heating up some water. Crow went to the couch and plopped down on it. Fulmar sat next to him.
"Your buddy stole my wife," he said, upset.
"At least he's talking to someone."
"But I want to talk to my wife."
"She can probably be around other people, Fulmar."
"Yeah, I know. I just want to be the center of her attention."
"I get that. Still, they need-"
"I know, I know. So, Crow. Do you want to overthrow the government?"
"Wh-"
