"Seeing somebody else with whom we love can help us realize we love them more than we thought." -Fulmar
Chapter 6
Group Epsilon was walking towards the spacious headquarters. Tonight Storm Chasers from every coast would gather to have the most luxurious night. Crow was not ready for it.
He was walking next to Chameleon, who was talking to Fulmar. Apparently Fulmar had made some sort of bet with Orca. He was wearing a beautiful white and gray dress along with a mask that looked like a seagull's. Chameleon was wearing a dark green suit with browns and yellows dotted along it. He also had a chameleon mask.
Crow looked at his own outfit. He was just wearing his normal work clothes. He felt severely underdressed for the occasion, and he frowned at his attire. 'I'm going to look underwhelming, huh? Aye, I ruined this,' he thought to himself. He shook his head and looked for Raven.
Raven was wearing a raven blue trench coat with his fingerless gloves. He also had a deep purple button up shirt and navy blue pants to go with it. Crow looked at him and sighed. 'He looks ready. How could I ever be him? He's perfect,' he contemplated. 'Get it together, Crow. You told him it wouldn't work. Even though...' Crow huffed, rubbing his eyes. He quickly looked ahead and tried to ignore Raven. He found it hard, though.
Crow eventually felt as if the gods above were smiting him. He groaned, slowing down and going over to Raven. 'If my mind won't shut up about it, I might as well say it,' he reasoned.
"Hey, Raven. You look really good in that outfit," Crow complimented.
"Thanks." Raven said curtly
"Yeah. Sorry for bothering you. I'll go now. Bye?" Crow felt like he was sweating. Maybe he was.
"You didn't bother me, but if you are leaving I'll tell you one thing. Be wary of Chameleon."
"Ok," Crow said, feeling oddly let down. He started speeding up his pace, trying to get out of the embarrassing situation.
"You look nice, even if it's just your work clothes," Raven said after him.
Crow stopped for a second, "I do? Thanks..."
Raven walked past him, then gave him a small nod and pat on the head. Crow stood, confused. He quickly shook his head, and sped up his pace to stand next to Chameleon. He rubbed his cheeks on the way there, feeling that they were warm. He huffed from embarrassment.
He looked up, seeing the large building. It was a very geometric place, with designated areas. Felidae went in front, taking out his badge. He showed the guards, allowing the group to walk around to the back.
The garden was beautiful, with flowers and bushes all around. In the middle was a large pavilion with a dome on top. A band played calming music, and loud chatter filled the area. People were going inside and out of the building with food and drinks. Crow was immediately taken aback by the noise shift, but he started to get used to it. Chameleon suddenly took his hand.
"Care to dance?" Chameleon asked, with a small smile.
"I guess? You're going to tell me what happened, right?"
"I keep my promises."
"You didn't promise."
"Don't worry about that right now. Let's just have fun, ok? Besides, it'd be weird if we just ran off now."
"You are making this sound very wrong."
"Other people need that implication. Besides, you don't have to worry. I'm not attracted to men. You'll be fine."
