the main character is Eddie and sometimes the story will change POVs.

Eddie wakes up to the sound of his mom, hollering "Eddie bear! it's time to get up!!!". he groans, annoyed. he slouches out of bed, mumbling something about sleeping in, it is his birthday after all, and he could afford to have a few minutes of undisturbed sleep.

he shuffles over to his neat closet, picking out an outfit to wear. it takes 5 minutes but he just decides to wear his usual yellow polo shirt with red track shorts. he goes to the bathroom to comb his hair then he stumbles down the stairs.

the walks around the hallway to the dining room to see....red balloons... he hasn't told his mom about this summer. and probably never will, she would freak. and probably send him to a mental hospital.

he takes a deep breath, and tries to avoid the balloons, "well, what do you think Eddie bear?" says Mrs. K. who was sweating because she had just walked seven steps across the room to place the balloons in the corner

eddie smiles a little and says "I love it, mummy, thanks." he lied because he didn't want to upset his mother. the last time he said something seven slightly wrong she would lock him in his room because he needed to learn manners.

Mrs. K sat down on her usual reclining chair, well. it doesn't recline now. it broke because of the pressure. she huffed and in five minutes began snoring with the television on. same television program... every day...

eddie sighed and walked to the front door and out to the mailbox. which was flooded with letters. that was normal. they were always getting mail from the doctors about medicine prescriptions.

eddie saw something swoop around from the corner of his eye, he turned around. spooked, he turned back to the mailbox.

eddie jumped back in surprise, falling on the hard concrete driveway of his house.

"what the fuck?!" he exclaimed

there was a plump and fluffy white owl, perched on the mailbox. and in its beak, was a letter sealed with a red stamp. "fancy." eddie thought to himself.

he cautiously took the letter from the owl. it flew away and eddie flinched. he ran back inside, in case there were any more owls outside. couldn't risk being infected, who knows what germs they carry...
