Will you wait for me? (short)

"Today, we're all here to have fun. So no one's going home till they're drunk!" Yena announces, standing on the table with a bottle of beer raised in his hand.

Everyone cheered as he pulls Yujin to stand up. "And make sure to wish this man a happy birthday because you had no idea what he went through to gather all of us here today."

On the other end of Yujin's apartment was where their girlfriends were. Particularly in the kitchen, gossiping here and there.

"How long has it been since we graduated?" Yuri wonders, leaning against the island.

"6 years," Sakura said.

"That long?"

"Mmhm." The Japanese girl reaches for her drink just to hear a gasp from Wonyoung.

The girl went beside her and lifted her hand. "Unnie!" She showed all of them the diamond ring on her finger, resulting in more gasps.

"When?" Minju's eyes widened like never before.

Sakura lets out a shy smile. "Not long ago."

"Chaeyeon didn't tell me anything." Hyewon scoffs. She has been his best friend for ages, yet she knows nothing about this engagement.

"Congratulations! It has been so long." Minju sincerely voices, shaking the older girl. "I knew it."

"You, you. You were always rooting for them." Yuri lightly slaps the brunette's shoulder.

"Ya. I'm the one who made this happen." Minju proudly states, remembering the rough patches the couple went through. She's really good at talking things out, Yuri had to agree to it.

"I hope your birthday boy will come to his senses soon. You two lasted the longest. Why isn't he doing anything?" Yuri tuts, folding her arms.

Yujin and Minju have been together for more than 10 years, ever since high school. They were in different classes but eventually went to the same university.

It was just like fate. But fate is merely just predicted coincidence because Yujin fell for her long before she noticed him.

Not so expected when he was the top scorer of the school. People thought he valued his grades more than humans.

But Minju broke that myth.

Hyewon shakes her head. "Yujinie's busy. He's a doctor and you know what that means. He simply has no time to think of such things." She makes it clear for them to see.

Minju glances over at the guys drinking their night away.

Well, she has the same thoughts as Yuri. But at the same time, Hyewon wasn't wrong either. Yujin is busy as he prepares for his final certifications as a paediatrician.

He loves kids. What a green flag indeed.

As much as Minju wants to spend the rest of her life with this guy, she knows his dreams come first. Even when he says she's his dream. Cheesy man.

As the night deepens, the birthday party never ends. The noise died down a little after cake-cutting, but the guys were still filled with energy.

Some were playing the gaming console, the others were just talking and making fun of each other.

The girls were patiently waiting as they chit-chatted till their boyfriends decide to head home.

Minju goes into Yujin's room, wanting a little alone time. Her social battery has died out. She can't last long at parties even if it's her own boyfriend's. Yujin knows that and told her to rest if she wanted to.
