The Black King's Attack!

Time: 5 days, 3 hours, and 34 minutes.

It had been a few hours since Bunnie, Rotor, and Antoine's absence.

"I have got a bad feeling about this..." Sonic thought.

"Even if they don't return, they will be fine!" Sally said to him.

"I'm sure they will, sweetie!" He replied with a smile.

The two prepared to leave since staying in one place could endanger them. They left, not before encountering another close friend.

"Sally, is that [really] you? You look more colorful than ever!" Nicole said.

"It's a long story, but we must leave New Mobotropolis," Sally replied."Why leave so soon?" Nicole asked her.

"It endangers our lives. I'm sorry, Nicole..." Sally replied.

Nicole prevented them from going to the gate. Sally tried to go around her, but Nicole kept stopping her path. Sally was getting irritated by this.

"Nicole, please move!"

"You need to tell me where are you going?!"

"I can't explain it to you-"

"But you must!"

Sonic sighed and pushed Sally away.

"Nicole, if you care about us, let us pass!" He said, looking down at her.

"I need an explanation-"

Sonic pushed her out of the way.

"If we don't want to, we don't want!" He said, and they moved.The two continued, not until Elias stopped them with his army."You have to be kidding me!" Sonic said.

"Halt! You are not to leave with Sally in hand!" Elias shouted.

Sally looked away, her eyes showing how much she'd like NOT to be here. Sonic saw this and frowned.

"Sally, please listen to me before you go!" Elias said to her.

"I'd prefer not to..."

"Just listen to me!"

"I don't want to..."

A guard grabbed her arm. She tried to make him let go of her to no avail. She didn't want to listen to him, she didn't want to stay there any longer, and she wanted to go away. Sonic saw red and quickly kicked the guard's head.

"She said she didn't want to! Can't you take no for an answer?!" He shouted at Elias.

"This is a private matter you cannot butt in!" Elias yelled.

"If it concerns my girlfriend, then it also concerns me, you moron!" He replied.

Sonic glared at Elias and huffed.

"Where will you go when you leave the city?! There are no safe places to go, Sonic!" Elias asked him.

"As if this were a safe place, Elias! First, Sally felt like a prisoner, forced to listen to her parents' controlling demeanor because of this horrible place! I'm sorry if this sounds rude to you or your family, but his former majesty is crazy! He thinks he is in the fucking past!" Sonic replied.

"You cannot speak about our father like this!"

"YOU CALLED ME A FUCKING PEASANT, ELIAS! I am the legendary hero of Mobius!"

The atmosphere felt even more hostile as their faces looked monstrous. Nicole stood up and grabbed Sally's hand violently.

"What the?! Let go of me!" She yelled.

"You will not leave the city, even if this is the last thing you will do!" Nicole said back, dragging her to Elias.

Sonic looked at the particular clock and slowed time down.

"You messed with the wrong hedgehog, Elias!" He thought and quickly punched him in the face.

He then took down the guards and, finally, Nicole. He wasn't in the mood to joke like in Operation: Endgame. He looked at Elias, who stood up. When will that guy stay down?! It didn't matter since he'd fight him endlessly if needed.

"Let us go now, or your face will be destroyed!" Sonic said.

"You may not know, but your friends are on my side. Bunnie, finish him!" Elias said.

Bunnie appeared, uppercutting Sonic. He was surprised and enraged by his friends' betrayal. Betrayed, surrounded, and unable to fight all of them, Sonic felt hopeless. He wouldn't give up even if he died.

"Why are you doing this?!" He asked them.

"It's just how things are meant tuh be, Sonic," Bunnie replied.

"You can leave, but wivoot (without) Sally. Shé eez to stai haire," Antoine replied then.

"You can't escape either way. Just give up." Rotor said back, slamming Sonic down.

He kept fighting them, seeing Sally get taken away by Nicole by force. He wouldn't let them take her away now or ever. They overwhelmed him, forcing him to admit defeat. Elias felt pleased, taking Sally away and leaving the beaten Sonic to rot. He woke up, seeing neither Sally nor her brother around. He stood up and screamed in anger.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" He yelled.

He failed her once again. What kind of hero is he?! He was no hero. He was just a failure.

"Don't give up on your hope, my king. Your Queen can still be saved." Mighty said to Sonic.

"How can I save her when I'm alone?! Everybody here is on his fucking side!" Sonic asked him.

"You fought more significant battles than this, and you can fight this battle too. You are a veteran of the two Robotnik Wars! You can fight the battles on your own or with the help of friends. Your choice." Mighty replied.

Sonic looked at him.

"Is this true?"

"There's only one way to find out."
