Really short Parrward <3

The queens had to save money by not heating as much. So Cathy was sitting at her desk, hiding under three layers of sweaters and cupping a boiling hot chocolate milk close to herself. Normally she'd be wrapped up in a book as well as the warm clothes, but for that she would have to let go of the mug and that would simply be too cold.

She had planned on writing today, but it was just too cold, that's why she sat here, because she had just gotten comfortable to write, then it was too cold to write. She stayed, now that her seat was warm, and spent the time zoning out.

If she wasn't actively writing, she could at least come up with a new plot. Or whatever. Mostly she thought of her wonderful girlfriend Kat though. She couldn't even think about anything else, believe me, she tried.. briefly.

So distracted by everything in her head, Cathy didn't notice somebody sneaking up on her from behind.

Cathy tapped the mug to keep her fingers moving, taking it in one hand then the other for a few minutes. She shivered each time a hand left the comforting heat.

Her eyes were closed when someone snatched the now drinkably warm drink from her hands. Slightly frightened, Cathy's eyes shot open, but whoever just stole her only source of heat was behind her.

"Rude," she muttered instead of actually turning around or fighting for the mug, "that was mine," Cathy just let her shoulders slump and wrapped her arms around herself.

Kat giggled innocently, "aw, sorry, babes. I'm cold too though," she leaned over Cathy's shoulder, in Cathy's field of vision, she took a long sip of the chocolate. "Ooo, I knew I smelled something sweeter than coffee through your coffee imprinted walls."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Cathy frowned defensively, "it's not that bad."

"Seriously?" Kat laughed, straightening her back again, "you've spilled coffee all over the place! Every wall, floorboard, hell," Kat looked up, "there's even a stain on your ceiling! How did that even happen?"

Embarrassed, Cathy covered her face, "that one was Anne with a super soaker watergun.. She fired a warning shot."

Kat face palmed, "you're both idiots. For different reasons."

Cathy's pouted and grabbed her mug back to firmly place it on the desk before her. "And here I was thinking you might think of me as not dumb."

Rolling her eyes, Kat didn't verbally respond, she tugged at Cathy's third sweater, the one easiest to reach. Cathy didn't move, observing what Kat was doing. Turns out, Kat was stealing her clothes whilst she was still wearing them.

Kat put it over, still looking as calm as she possibly ever could, once happy with the way it fit, she took the mug again and went over to Cathy's bed. She sat down and waited. Waited to see what Cathy would do.

"What are you doing?" Cathy chuckled at Kat giving her an oddly polite smile.

"Shh," Kat shushed her quickly, "I'm bait."

"Bait? What are you hoping to catch?" Cathy turned around in her chair, visibly intrigued.

Kat nodded contently, "that's what I'm waiting to see. Is it grumpy Cathy, who wants her drink and sweater," she took a sip, "or is it my cuddly Cathy, who wants to snuggle and share the hot chocolate?"

Watching Kat sitting on the bed, Cathy grinned, "I guess you'll just have to find out once I separate from this wonderfully warm chair. Perhaps you'll have to wait for minutes, hours even..."

"Wait," Kat slightly panicked, placing the mug down, "please don't..! I just wanna hug!"

Cathy's fake serious act melted away at Kat's eyes. "Aww, okay," she threw herself out of the seat and almost tackled Kat, but she didn't. She jumped past Kat and opened her arms for Kat to cuddle into her. Which she did, Kat crawled up in Cathy's arms, "mmh, this is nice.." she mumbled.

"Yeah?" Cathy wrapped her arms around Kat loosely, "you want music as well?"

Kat pulled Cathy closer, "no. Just you."

Cathy smiled softly, "I love you, Kat."

"Love you too, but please shut up now, I want to sleep."

After laughing at her, Cathy drew the blanket over them and let Kat rest on her. Careful not to disturb her on the mission to sleep, Cathy reached over to turn of the nightlight, taking note of the hot chocolate that was now more or less forgotten next to the lamp.

"Sleep well, my love."
