High School Bodyguard [Korrasami]

Chapter 2

ASAMI'S POV

"Asami, this is your new bodyguard, Korra".

"BODYGUARD!?" I screeched, Korra's eyes slightly wide. I sighed and realized how ridiculous i was being. I let out a breath and held my head in my hands as my elbows made contact with the counter.

"Dad, we've talked about this. I don't want a bodyguard!" I replied, frustrated.

"Asami, it's for your own good. Korra is highly trained and i am certain you will be safe with her." My father said sternly.

"I've lived without a bodyguard almost my entire life, Why do i need one now!?" I pointed out.

I lifted my head up to look him in the eye, waiting to get yelled at.

"Asami, you need to understand the circumstances. As of now, it's not good." My mother said entering the dining room.

"But mother-" I tried to reason with her but she shook her head.

"This is not up for dicussion, now go to your room." She said, glaring at me

KORRA'S POV (Before going to the Sato Manor)

I was still packing when Mom and dad knocked on my door. "You done packing yet?" My dad asked

"Almost, still need to pack my toothbrush." I said, walking into the bathroom to fetch my toothbrush.

"Okay, but hurry up. The uber's gonna be here in a few minutes." My mom said.

"Alright." I replied and got back to packing. Once i was done, i pulled the zip up on my suitcase. I turned on my phone and checked the time, its was 12:57. I realized that the flight was at 13:15, as my eyes went wide. I rushed to my suitcase and just stuck the toothbrush in on the side pocket, too panicked to check if i had everything. And THEN I realized we probably couldn't even put stuff in the side pockets so I had to open it and put it back inside.

I ran out the door to the front porch to see my mother standing there with her arms crossed, as my father was still trying to convince the uber driver to wait. I gave her a cocky grin and then noticed the trunk was open so i went ahead and put my suitcase in there, closing it once done.

"Did it take you that long to just 'pack your toothbrush'." My mother asked still looking just a tiny bit mad.

"Maybe," I replied getting into the passenger seat. "but you take a really long time to get ready when we're only going to get groceries so, you can't talk!" I chuckled as my mom rolled her eyes.

"That's different!" she half-yelled. "Not really" my dad said with a shrug. "What did you say?" mom asked, glaring at dad. "Nothing, honey." dad said innocently. I giggled at them and took out my phone and airpods, and turned on the song "accidentally in love" by the counting crows. I had accidentally fallen in love with that song after hearing it in Shrek 2, but hey? Who gives a damn?.

<time skip—they already boarded the plane>

"I just realized, you guys never actually told me where we're going?" I said to my parents, slightly looking up from my phone.

"The United Republic." My dad answered.

"What?" I didn't clearly hear what he said because of the music, so i took out one airpod and asked him to repeat.

"The United Republic." My dad replied once again.

"Woah! I've always wanted to go there! Where are we staying?"

My dad chuckled as my mom opened her mouth to talk. "We're going to be staying with my friend Pema at Air Temple Island. Pema and her husband offered us to stay."

"Thank god," I said, letting out a sigh

of relief. "I can NOT deal with anymore of those hard beds at the motel's!" My parents chuckled as i put my airpod back in my ear and closed my eyes.

This was going to be a long, long, trip.
