I got out of the car and saw a crowd of people staring at me. At that point, I couldn't stand it anymore.

-You had to notify the whole town?
-I have no idea what it is. I truly have nothing to do with it.
-If not you, then who?
-I don't know.

I felt like a real criminal. Everyone was looking at me with judgmental eyes as if it was all my fault. Alan was helping me get to the door, but at one point I saw someone I knew. Among the crowd, I noticed beautiful red hair that could only belong to one person. She was staring at me, but she didn't seem to recognize me.It was not a surprise, because she had no idea what I looked like.

- Polly, we have to go- I heard and realized that I had stopped in place
-I'm coming- I shouted back
-Why did you stop?- The policeman asked once we managed to get inside
-I just saw someone I know, sorry.
-It's okay, the interrogation room is at number 4. Sit down and I'll join you in a moment.
-Okay-I replied and then dutifully went to the room mentioned before.

"Did she recognize me?"-I thought.-"It's impossible, I never sent her any photos."

Once again, my thoughts were interrupted by a police officer who entered the room.

-Coffee?
-No thanks, but I don't drink coffee.
-Alright, then let's go to our interrogation.

It felt like it lasted forever. The policeman was asking the same questions over and over again. I had to be careful with what I was saying and stick to my original version. I know how it sounds, but I couldn't tell him everything about the hacker. I felt like I owed it to him, especially after everything he'd done for me.

-And finally, I have one more question - said the policeman, and I could finally breathe a sigh of relief. - What are your plans for the afternoon?

I have to admit, it wasn't the question I expected. Albeit the answer to it was very simple and surely not what Alan was expecting.

-I'm going to the hospital to visit Hannah and Richy, then I'm going to check into the motel- I replied.
-Ah yes, then I won't hold you any longer. Have a nice visit.

I was already heading towards the exit, but I remembered something important.

-Those people aren't there anymore, are they?- I asked devastated.
-And why do you think I questioned you for so long?- he replied smiling.
-To badger me to death- I muttered.
-Did you say something?
-No, nothing- I replied and rapidly left the room.

"It's good that it's over" - I thought as I was taking my phone out of my purse.
I called a taxi and in less than ten minutes, I was there.
