Charlie POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At school on Monday, there is a buzz of excitement since the homecoming dance is this Friday. And guess what. I'm the only girl in my grade without a date. Greyson hasn't asked me yet. Dylan got asked two weeks ago. She has been so excited. It's kinda annoying if you ask me.
Anyway, I'm sure he will ask me soon. I hope. I just hope that he didn't get asked by some girl in his grade. For this dance, both boys and girls can ask someone to the dance. Not just the boys, like it usually is. I heard a rumor that Sadie Brown, the most popular senior at school, is going to ask Greyson to the dance. I plan on asking him next time I see him.
I don't see Greyson until lunch. As I am walking up to him to ask him to the dance, Sadie Brown walks over to him, throwing her arm around his shoulders. "So Greyson. You have a date to the dance?" She asks, smiling evilly. "No, not yet." Greyson responds, with his usually cheerfulness. "Well, now you do." The she-devil says, hugging him. "Great!" Greyson says, smiling. My heart is literally in pieces. How could he do that?? I walk up to him, a tear begging to roll down my cheek. "Greyson! What was that?!" I ask, waving my hands around. "She asked me to the dance." He calmly answers. "And you said what to her?" I ask, even though I know the answer. "Well... I said yes..." His voice trails off on the last word. "I can't believe you." I say, a single tear escaping my eye.
I run to the bathroom, which Dylan is conveniently in. "Charlie! What's wrong?!" She asks, coming over to me. "Greyson is going to homecoming with another girl." I answer quietly. "So he is going with two girls?" Dylan asks, confused. "What?" I ask, looking up at her. "He is going with you and another girl?" Dylan questions. "No! He isn't going with me. He's going with Sadie Brown." I answer. "Well ya know what?" She says loudly. "What?" I ask. "We are gonna find you a date to that dance!" She yells, walking out of the bathroom. I laugh and follow her out.
~~Flash forward to Wednesday~~
So it's Wednesday and I still don't have a date to the dance. Everyone I have asked either has a date already or isn't going to the dance at all.
"Ugh! This is hopeless!" I yell, holding my head in my hands. "Don't worry. There is still one more person who we haven't asked." Dylan reassures me. "Who?" I ask, picking up my head. "You'll find out." Dylan answers, smirking. Well that worries me. "Follow me." Dylan says, grabbing my hand.
When Dylan finally stops running, my hand is red from her squeezing it. "Geez Dylan. You didn't have to kill my hand." I complained, rubbing my hand. "Sorry." She answers. "So who are we looking for? And why are we at my locker?" I ask, looking around. "Because, we are looking for someone who has a locker near by." She says, smiling. "Who has a locker near by?" I ask. "Oh you know." She assures me. "No, I don't." "Oh but I think you do." She says, smirking. After thinking for a while, I finally figure it out. "NO NO NO NO!! I am not asking Ethan!" I yell. "Why not? He's cute, he's taller than you, he can probably be sweet. He is perfect." She says, shrugging. "Well, he is pretty cute..." I say, looking down. Just as I say those 5 words, Ethan walks up. "Hey Dylan. Charlie." He growls. "Hey Ethan, Charlie has a question for you." Dylan tells him. "Ugh. What do you want." He says more as a statement than a question. "Willyougotothehomecomingdancewithme?" I said all in one breath. "What?" Dylan and Ethan ask at the same time. "Will you go to the homecoming dance with me?" I say quietly. "Are you talking to me?" Ethan asks, laughing. "Yes you." I growl. Then he did something crazy. He laughed at me. At me! "Why are you laughing?" I ask, getting angry. "Wait. Are you serious??" Ethan asks, barely able to contain his laughter. "Yeah she's serious!" Dylan yells. "Aren't you like frickle frackling with my brother?" Ethan asks. "We have not frickle frackled yet!" I yell. "Yet?" Dylan and Ethan ask simultaneously. "Forget I said that. Look, do you wanna go to the dance or not?" I ask, getting frustrated. "Yeah sure." Ethan answers. "Yay!!!" Dylan shrieks.
