𝐴𝑛𝑑 𝐼'𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑𝑠 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑖𝑛"

     All while the two were putting up the tent Maddox was going on and on about how that night she got to tell the scary story and how excited she was. Juniper didn't mind the girl's constant rambling as Juniper got the chance to just admire her and the Yun girl would never pass up the chance.

     Just as they finished putting everything away in their tent it was time for everyone to sit by the campfire and Maddox was practically skipping as she dragged Juniper over. Just as Ej was getting ready to sing Juniper turned to one of her new favorite people, Carlos, as he yelled out, "shake your money maker Caswell" Which Juniper whistled out even while Ej turned them down. The song went on as it did every year but Juniper always liked the feel of the night and everyone around the camp fire. After every sang along to the song it was time for the most awaited part of the night the scary story.

Juniper looked right at Maddox watching the excited glint in her eyes and the Yun girl got a bit distracted looking into her eyes that it took her a second to realize the same excited glint that she adored seemed to falter in Maddox's eyes. Juniper looked around to everyone laughing confused until Jet spoke up making fun of the story.

Juniper looked at him and Maddox conflicted knowing that Jet was just trying to fit in with everyone but this night was also extremely important to Maddox. She thought Jet knew that as Maddox always gave countless stories basically jumping up and down when she told them to him back when they were still talking.

The Yun girl didn't know what to do to help and she didn't get the chance to try when Maddox started talking again, "- its scary it's supposed to be scary. You know what never mind. Sorry."

     Maddox sounded so defatted that Juniper could feel it radiate off her. Juniper wasn't sure what to do so she just said the first thing that came to mind, "so uh global warming am i right?"

     Realizing that wasn't gonna relive any tension, Juniper stood up at the same time Jet called out for her, "hey just let me talk to her first its gonna be fine," She gave him a small smile as reassurance before Juniper followed the way Maddox walked off too.

     Juniper walked up to Maddox slowly as trying not to startle her and still trying to come up with what she was going to say. She could just let Maddox rant but she also didn't want to listen to her insult Jet. But Juniper didn't even need to decide as she looked up to Maddox voice.

     "I really don't want any company right now Piper," Maddox almost sounded strained as she tried for the most gentle voice she could knowing she didn't want to let out her frustration on Juniper.

     Juniper still looked a bit surprised at the fact Maddox already knew she was there and the current tone of her voice but continued on for her try at helping Maddox or really whatever ended up coming out her mouth as she still wasn't completely sure what she was doing, "I know but I'm still here for you and-"

    "Juniper what do I need to say that will help you get the hint that I don't need or want to listen you being you right now, all this dreamy happy bullshit is honestly so exhausting all the time," Maddox basically yelled at her.

     The minute it left her mouth she wanted to take it back. Maddox truly loved how much happiness that Juniper has and how much she brings to everyone else but Maddox was upset and frustrated and sadly Juniper was right there.

     Junipers eyes went wide and the rest of her body went frigid. She knew of a lot of people that had always made fun of her sunshine personality but the one person she trusted to never make fun of it or try to paint it as a bad thing was Maddox. And hearing her conclude that even she thinks the same broke something in Juniper and she was so over feeling this embarrassment for being herself.

     "I am so done with this. I'm exhausting really? Yeah I'm happy a lot of the time, yeah Im happy go lucky Juniper but who in the right mind should give a shit! I'm genuinely happy and that's not something that I should have to fucking apologize for, to anyone! Ever!"

     Maddox stood dumbfounded and Juniper finally hit her breaking point. She knew she should say something, most likely apologize but Juniper wasn't done.

     "All I've ever done is be there for you Maddox. All I've ever done is be a good friend and right now you can't even do the simple act of doing the same. I came over here to console you or do whatever you needed me to do for things to be right and all I get is you yelling at me that me being me isn't something that you can handle. Well fuck me then. Have fun sulking with yourself, I'm sleeping in Ej's tent tonight," Juniper finished off.

     With her head help high Juniper walked off leaving a Maddox to realize what a mistake she just made.

i wasn't exactly in a happy mood when i wrote this so this is what came of that also I wanted Juniper to go off on someone and get a badass kinda moment so yeah.

first Juniper and Maddox angst, fun???

also writing will be even more infrequent as its comp season now and i will be spending my time stressing over that
