Chapter 1

"Don't forget about tomorrow." Her dad said through the phone reminding her about the event tomorrow.

She used to attend any kind of events, so she didn't say anything about it anymore.

"Okay." She replied before her dad hung up.

Living as a free woman these past few months was something she should've been doing before.

Of course it feels weird to not have someone asking how's your day or say I love you but it's better not having someone say it to you than having someone fake say it to you.

She wasted her time.

Emma let out a long breath before walking out of her bedroom to the kitchen.

"Ann."

"Yes, ms." Her maid said.

"Tomorrow I will be attending an event, you don't have to prepare dinner okay." She said.

"Alright, ms." She excuses her maid to end her working hour before eating in a complete silence.

While scrolling through the social media, she saw her ex being all happy with the girl he cheated.

It was a good decision, they never sleep together.

But imagine being proud to stand beside your boyfriend, only to be cheated behind you.

Thanks to the paparazzi for revealing his dirty routine.

Her father immediately cut everything with him and now he asked Emma to be more focused on the business.

She was asked to attend one of the events to get to know every businessman there since Emma was gone for almost a year because of heartbreak.

Her father said that one of the businessmen there is going to be their business partner.

Emma prayed that it's not gonna be an old man she's dealing with, cause most of the rich old men act in a lecherous manner.

When they have money, they have many ways to get you.

She shuddered when she remembered an old man grabbed her ass.

Then, how her drink spiked.

Thank God, her bodyguard always kept an eye on her even if they were standing far away. Taking care of every door and nobody knows about it.

They just thought they were the event securities.

Last time, she didn't realize the old man had his hand around her waist while trying to walk her out of the ballroom.

But he was stopped by one of her bodyguards, the other bodyguard probably got the messages they went to surround the old man.

Immediately she got carried by one of her bodyguards to the car before leaving the event.

Her father was the one who taught everything to her bodyguards since it's really dangerous for a girl in this business world.

Emma cleaned up the dishes before going up to her bedroom again.

This was the last day she's going to hide from everyone.

She thought one year is enough to treat her heart although she still feels the loneliness and pain.

She laid down on her bed still scrolling down the media.

Her eyes suddenly stopped on one of the articles. She looked at the man picture even though there was a girl hugging his arm.

He seems to be a little familiar but she can't remember.

'Austin is back with his girlfriend.'

What the hell. She thought.

Why do they need to make this an article.

She scrolled down completely not interested with all the news.

Then there was a knock.

"Miss Emma."

"Come in."

A tailor from her company came in with a dress garment bag.

"I've brought your dress for tomorrow like you asked."

She climbed out the bed while watching the tailor taking out the dress.

Just like how she asked it to be.

It has a deep v cut on the front.

"What about the shoes."

The staff bring out a red 6 inch lace up stilettos.

Satisfied with the dress and shoes, she asked them to put them in the closet and excuse them afterwards.

She laid down again ready to get her beauty sleep for tomorrow's event.

Today was tiring since her day was spent at the spa, getting her nails done and going to the salon to treat her hair.

Then she went to meet her best friend, Claire spent time with her at the mall until evening then went home.

Such a tiring day in which she let her sleepy head engulfed her completely.
