Taerel looked and gave a slight smile to Severus as he walked passed as he talked about the Wideyed Potion and how it is used, Taerel had made this potion many times helping his family with their work as Healers, it was a very simple potion if you knew how to make it all and he knew how to make it with his eyes closed that is, his grandfather Kelvhan had perfected it so it would last much longer than anywhere else, it normally was used to keep themselves awake when they were in an emergency or helping those to wake from a concussion or poising and he had dealt with them on a regular business
"Eyes open for once, today we will be learning to brew Wideye Potion, the Wideye Potion has many practical uses, so long as you do not abuse it, The Wideye Potion, also known as the Awakening Potion, was or is a potion which prevented the drinker from falling asleep and could also be used to awaken someone from drugging or concussion, it acts as an antidote for the Draught of the Living Death, it's recipe can be found in Magical Draughts and Potions. If anyone of you can be bothered to read ahead you will know what ingredients that are in there but....." he stopped and looked at Taerel hoping to thrown him off
"...lets have our... guest answer the question of what belongs in this potion? hum?" everyone turned to Taerel who smiled at them showing them a fang that was normally used for vegetables more than anything
"Well that one is easy enough, I have brewed that potion for my family enough times then I care to admit, professor your answer is:
6 snake fangs
4 measures of standard ingredients
6 dried Billywig Strings
2 Sprigs of Wolfsbane
I can also tell you how to make it as well as the different timings due to what cauldrons if you wish, cooper is 8 hours, brass is 14 hours and pewter is 23 hours, I have made each one and my grandfather has also managed to extend the effects as well as shelf life"
Severus was shocked at it all he didn't think he would get it right as he didn't think the boy...no man... no whatever knew his potions he had in his book never had a magical education but it appeared that he did and he was glad that he did at least he could at least have an intellectual conversation with someone regarding potions compared to the dunderheads he was used to
Taerel smiled he liked this man and the blond girl in front of him both were an enigma to him and he wanted to find out more but he had to wait it seemed, he got up and left as this was something he already knew about Sheen meowed a bye and trotted after their master
The headed towards another class and knocked on the door as the person replied with an enter he noticed that their was two red heads in here he hoped that they weren't related to the other two red heads he had already met and disliked right away
"Ah Harry Potter please come in I'm Professor Minerva McGonagall please come in a join in, this class might be above you're level as you are only fourteen"
"Thank you Professor but my name is Taerel Heikrana and I would kindly ask you to use that name and not the birth name that you have said, I gave that name up the moment that I entered the Elven Realm when I was but a child, I am again 1400 years old which in this world would be about 14 yes but as I am an High Elf we age differently" he looked around the classroom and found a spot where he could see everyone and what they were doing and help them if they needed
Minerva was shocked at the response and where Taerel had sat, he was at the back but from where he was sitting he could see everyone she knew about this as she had used it many time before hand when the students had taken a test and she was in her Animagus form
Sheen trotted up to her and mewed being all cute making her smile but when she went to pick Sheen up he hissed and ran back
The students laughed as they knew that cats were Minerva's favourite and the twins had pranked her many times with the catnip that bought for Christmas since their second year and it never got old
"Oh I am sorry about that Professor but as my dear here is from the Elven World they will not let anyone just pick them up or touch them unless they trust you and two of your students are about to hurt the Puffskein on their tables, that or said animal is about to bolt from the table which ever come first" and he pointed to two random students
"Well I never!" she wasn't happy at what Taerel had said to her and so went about helping the two students as he pet Sheen who mewed
His mind wandered about the two that he had met and felt drawn to for some reason he would have to speak to his family about it and knowing his aunt she would all be for the gossip that was happening here in the human world while his grandmother would be the worrywart she was known for regarding him
She had lost her youngest and now he was stuck in the human world and she could go to him, he sighed and randomly summoned a lone puffskein to him petting it gently and within seconds it was a paperweight Minvera was shocked all he did was pet the animal and it was a paperweight in seconds
"How?" she asked
"Oh we are taught never to limit ourselves" he changed to paperweight back and smiled the animal seemed to like him "you do know that some of these are illegal, they are fanged puffskiens but very adorable if you ask me mind if I keep it?" he looked at Minerva who paled she didn't know that they were as Dumbles had given them for this very spell
"Please"
"Thank you very much I must be going but keep practicing and I will see everyone later" he got up the fanged puffskien was on his head and all you could see were the yellow eyes in his hair other than that nothing
Sheen sat on Taerel's shoulder and mewed to get the puffskein to get out of the hair but it didn't move besides look at the cat, soon it went to sleep
