"Anyone need a hand?!"
The man waved the hand around happily. Everyone was staring at him, confused, and horrified. Except for you, somehow, you were amused. Maybe you were just caught up in the craziness of this situation.
"I'm just foolin,'" the man explained, lowering the hand. "It's not real, see?"
"God," Carly muttered.
"I found it on the side of the road a few weeks ago," the man continued.
You felt someone grab you, and begin to lead you back up the hill. Wade was directing you to rejoin the group. He was probably freaked out by 'the hand man,' as you dubbed him.
"Oh my god, are you okay," Carly quickly asked you.
"I'm fine," you shrugged.
"Sorry we took so long," Blake apologized.
"Hey man, it's fine. Really."
"What're you guys doin' 'round here," the man asked.
"We were camping up through those trees," Carly told him, pointing at the area.
"Hey, have you guys seen my camera by any chance," Dalton asked.
"Are you kidding," Carly asked angrily.
"Hey, you don't know if there's a gas station around here, do you," Wade asked him.
"Well, I got some gas in the truck if-"
"I need a fan belt," Blake cut in.
"What," Paige asked him.
"Just busted," he replied.
"Of course," she said sarcastically. "Perfect."
"Bo might have one," the man answered. "Runs a station in Ambrose."
"Where's that," Blake asked.
"Fifteen miles up the road," the man told him.
"Let's just get one in Baton Rouge," Paige suggested. "We'll put it on when we get back."
"Man, there's no way I'm leaving my car," Blake argued. "What if that guy from last night comes and strips it or something?"
"What if I stay with it," Wade suggested.
"You're gonna miss the game then," Carly pointed out.
"Yeah, well, that's not why I came," Wade replied. "I'll run up to the station, but you need to go now, you're already late."
"The kickoff's not for a couple hours," you pointed out.
"Yeah, but they're already late," Wade explained. "They still gotta find a scalper and snag tickets. Ya'll should go now, I'll stay with the car. Just go and get a fan belt on the way back."
"I'll give you a ride," the man suggested.
"You serious," Wade asked.
"If ya like."
"Yeah, that's cool."
Wade began to make his way down, when Carly stopped him.
"I'm going with you," she told him.
"Carly, no," Wade told her.
"Yes. It'll be fine," she argued.
"All right, let's go," the man said, nodding to his car.
"Can I come with," you asked. "I wanna wash off my hands."
"I mean, you'll need to sit in the bed," the man told you.
