Together Against All Odds

20 epilog

Maur and I were spent after dessert.   Our bodies hurt but in a good way.  I had to be careful of my broken leg so I as on the bottom and Maura straddled. We were both glad the case didn't go all the way up my leg . We finally passed out.  

Several weeks had passed.  I finally was able to return to work and my leg was strong again. I didn't take my life,  family, friends nor career for granted.  I thought while in my office this afternoon after winning a well publicized case with my niece. We worked long and hard on this case along with the investigators and all of the witnesses to prove a beer manufacturer didn't taint the beer. It was messed with in the grocery store. A witness came forward which proved them innocent. Thet had put out one hundred thousand reward which Santos Lemos won. His testimony alone proved Carolina Castles. She was mad she was laid off over 5 years ago and had been planning this ever since. The sheriffs office along with the ATF otherwise known as Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms found the evidence in a storage locker in Placerville. Our firm received a bonus because the jury came back with a guilty verdict for Carolina  Castles. Our client Gabriel Flores was happy and got a promotion with the distributor and a huge settlement.  He paid us off immediately and resigned. He decided to move to Texas and work in sales at another beer distributor.

Maura since I am on a winning streak please marry me now with Lisa marrying us . We have our marriage license. We both don't want a huge wedding. Rony and Katelyn have our dresses here.  Are you serious? Yes. Baby girls are here,  Carlo is on his way with the rest of our family. J did you plan this behind my back? Not all of it. Katelyn agreed to be your matron of honor and and Rony is mine. Babe we don't have any flowers.  We don't need them we just need our family to be here. Sis go get dress. Rony will help Jane.  We will only being taken two photos one of us four and the one of us two. Everyone understands we don't want to be taking photos for days. June already has the white screen so we pop. So will you marry me as soon as we change our clothes? Yes my love.

The four of us left to get changed and do our hair and makeup. Lisa was glad to do the ceremony.  It was your basic ceremony. Our family cheers for us. June takes this two photos and prints them in Lisa's office.

Katelyn and Rony took one together.  Katelyn had Rony to take one by herself.

We laughed when we saw the dress I wore before when I took  a photo with Kiki several years ago when we got home for our party at our place.  Kiki was my favorite aunt as I  was her niece. My cousin Juanita, Michele and Mandi catered it. Janice made the cake.

She told us there was no way she wouldn't allow us to not have any flowers.  I was a red velvet at the bottom,  lemon in the middle  chocolate with strawberry filling.  The top was marble  with vanilla filling.  We loved the cake and we took extra pieces of the velvet cake each. Not one piece was left. We took the flowers and gave them to our female relatives.

Everyone showed up and we changed.  We were leaving on our honeymoon  next week when we initially planned it but instead of tahoe as planned we would leave from Sacramento international Airport.  Our matron of honors packed everything for us and we left afterwards.  Our family and friends cleaned up and Katelyn and Rony would lock up the house. We were going to barbados for our honeymoon for seven days. We were flying ourselves.
