Tonowari and Toruk Makto had already took out the teeth of the deceased beast.
Ronal showed Neytiri how to cook it while Kiri added seasoning according to Tsireya's instructions. Newea would take sips of it to test it and tell them what they should add. Na'vi are very connected to their family so being able to work together is essential.
"It's done," Ronal announced as she stirred the soup.
She then poured the soup into eleven bowls for the two families. Everyone took a bowl and ate their soup together.
"Wow this is really good," Lo'ak remarked.
"I like it!" Tuk exclaimed.
"Thanks to Newea we are able to eat this meal," Toruk Makto added.
Newea was surprised by her sudden credit. She was used to being overlooked so having someone notice her achievement couldn't help but to make her smile.
The Sully family was full of surprises.
"Yes, now eat up," Tonowari said.
They all ate happily together. Although Ronal and Neytiri were still breaking the ice everyone else seemed to get along well. Well maybe that's a lie. Ao'nung still felt as if this was all wrong. He quickly ate his food and hurriedly left to join his friends in who knows what.
Once they finished eating they all did their part in washing their dish and cleaning up. Tuk and Lo'ak even had seconds. Tsireya and Newea dried the dishes as the others put stuff away.
"Father can I take the teeth and help them turn it into knives?" Newea asked Tonowari.
"Go ahead," he replied.
Newea went over to the bag of teeth that Tonowari and Toruk Makto had taken from the akula. She grabbed it and then headed over to her own marui pod to store it for tomorrow. Tsireya followed closely behind her.
"You seem excited about teaching them now," Tsireya commented.
"It gives me something to do," Newea responded to her comment.
"You still need to tell me what happened this morning. With the boy. Neteyam was it?"
"I'll tell you later. I'm going to check on the village," Newea said.
She placed the bag in her marui pod then went to check on the village. It was her daily sweep where she would go around to make sure everything was in order. If there was conflict she'd attempt to diffuse the situation. If someone was in need of help she would provide assistance. It was the duty of being the olo'eyktan's eldest daughter.
Tsireya did the same but mostly socialized with the villagers. She approached them in a kinder aspect. Although Newea was helpful some people were still uneasy about asking her for help. They never knew what kind of mood she was in.
She walked along the pathways connecting each pod in the mangrove trees. Light blue na'vi were performing their daily tasks. Children played in the water as their parents worked. The hunting teams were coming back from their journey and returning home to their families. Newea and her family had eaten early since she had already caught an akula beforehand. It takes around three hunters to successfully kill that monster, but Newea, doing it on her own showed the Metkayina people that she is capable of many things. This scared them for a teenage girl like herself should be polite and graceful like her sister Tsireya. Her age scared them more than anything since many Metkayina women became warriors once they were fully grown, but Newea had already been acting like a warrior.
As she walked through the village she noticed a girl beneath the mangroves simply staring at the sand. She was laying down in the water while gently kicking her feet in the air. Her short hair flowed as she smiled at the grainy sand.
