It was almost eclipse and one of the Sully boys was nowhere to be found.
"You what?!?" Newea yelled once Ao'nung told her that he took Lo'ak outside of the reef and called out the fish.
Tonowari almost immediately sent out a search party for the boy.
"It was just a prank! But now he's not back yet..." Ao'nung explained.
"Oh now you feel bad?" Neteyam lightly nodded his head as he looked elsewhere with an angry face. (Like in the movie with Lo'ak)
"We found him! We've found the boy," someone announced. The three teens who were talking then rushed to the dock.
Lo'ak had been hurt but not so severe. Jake examined his son as Neytiri walked over to greet him.
"I pray to Eywa that I do not gouge out the eyes of my youngest son," she hissed as she made a clawing motion with her hand.
"Are you okay? Yeah? You're okay. It's fine! See, he's okay," Jake said frantically, first talking to Lo'ak then himself then to the people.
"No. My son is at fault. He knows better than to go outside of the reef," Tonowari replied as he pushed Ao'nung down to kneel.
"No. It was my idea. Ao'nung tried to stop me," Lo'ak lied.
Newea and Neteyam both looked at each other in shock at Lo'ak's act of compassion.
"Is this true?" Ronal asked her son. He did not answer.
"Lo'ak," Jake said sternly and walked him away.
Ao'nung followed Lo'ak to ask him a question.
Neteyam then walked over to his parents and was reprimanded by them as well.
"Lo'ak are you okay?" Newea walked over to the youngest Sully boy as he stormed to his pod.
"I'm fine," he bluntly replied.
Newea was going to grab his arm but stopped herself. She let her arm fall back to her side as she let out a sigh.
"If you need to talk I'm here," she said before leaving him alone.
"Thanks," Lo'ak replied softly.
The next morning while the teens plus Tuk were hanging out as usual Lo'ak told them the story of how he was saved by a tulkun. Payakan.
"Payakan is a killer," Ao'nung stated.
"No he's not he saved my life," Lo'ak argued.
"I believe you Lo'ak," Newea replied.
"Thank you Newea. Guys you have to believe me," Lo'ak pleaded as he held onto Tsireya's arm. She looked at him with a sad face. Neteyam then got up and made a sarcastic remark in attempt to change the subject. The younger brother left in annoyance.
"The tulkuns will arrive soon," Tsireya remarked with a sigh once he had left.
"That means the warriors are also coming back," Rotxo added.
"Who are the warriors?" Neteyam asked.
"Reev na'vi in the east needed assistance in defending their tulkun. They asked many villages to help. My father decided to send a warrior party to aid them. So most stayed here while a few left to the east," Newea explained with a smile.
The next day Newea woke up early as usual. Neteyam was also up and ready for the day. It had become their daily routine to meet each other for a morning swim. They rode their ilus together around the reef. Newea taught him each shortcut and tips on how to navigate the reef. They swam through the dark waters glowing with bioluminescence. The neon lights lit up the sea so that it was less murky at this time of day. Newea spun around on her ilu as Neteyam followed with a smile.
