Decision!

A point in life where all humans will feel stuck and stranded, unable to think clearly, unable to discern right from wrong, wisdom from stupidity, good from evil.

The question will take root in your mind and drive you to the point of insanity. Your conscience fluctuates like an electric bulb about to burn out. The sound of the clock ticks even louder, making you aware that a decision needs to be made and that time is not on your side. What does one do when faced with such a heavy choice? Do they listen to their head, the voice of reason OR do they listen to their heart, the voice of sentiment?

"We can't leave! Not yet" Samson said to his friends.

"Vera, I don't think anyone's in there." Another person's voice said from outside the house.

"Whoever owns that car is probably somewhere in the woods, injured or hurt." The woman, Vera, replied to the man.

"Maybe we should search the woods because if they were in that old house, they'd have said something by now." The man said.

"You're probably right! Let's go then." The woman said and her footsteps slowly began to fade as she walked away from the house.

"They're leaving! Guys, what do we do?" Nelly asked, he couldn't decide for himself.

Jennifer bowed down her head and walked back to where Samson stood, beside Peace.

"I've decided to stay. We have to save Peace and to do that, we have to break the curse so I'm staying." Jennifer said and smiled at Samson.

"I'm staying too," Samson said to Nelly and Darryl.

Nelly could hear the couple outside moving farther away from the house and wasn't sure what to do. He looked at the door that promised freedom and liberty and back at the house that promised more scares and torment and then at Peace, who seemed helpless and doomed. He now knew what decision he had to make.

"I guess I'm staying too. For Peace!" He said and went back over to the rest of them.

Only Darryl's decision was yet to be known. They stared at him and waited for him to make his choice.

"Ah screw it! Let's break this fucking curse and save Peace." He said and went to them.

They all smiled at each other in approval and looked at Peace with love and support.

"I really hope we didn't just make a huge mistake," Nelly said.

"Me too Nels, me too," Samson replied.

Suddenly, Carl appeared in front of them and they needed to ask him some questions about what just happened.

"Carl! Just in time. There was a couple outside knocking on the door."

"I heard them," Carl said.

"Could they have helped us?" Nelly asked him.

"Unfortunately Master Nelly, they couldn't have. If you had spoken to them, they wouldn't have heard you. And they also cannot come into the house." Carl said.

"I don't understand. We were able to come in so why not them?" Jennifer asked.

"That is not how the curse works. The house locks everything inside and conceals it from the outside world. That door will not open to let anyone in until you five are all dead. That is why you were able to enter the house today because everyone that was in here before you was dead." Carl told.
