An Inkling is seen walking through the quiet woods with a sad face. His squid-like hair is green and shaggy. He has freckles on his face, emerald eyes that make it look like he's wearing a mask over them, and pointy ears. His outfit is green with white elbow-long gloves, a metal brace around his neck, a cowl dropping behind him, some black pants, and a pair of red shoes. Unfortunately, it's all tattered.
"I can't believe it. Everyone I knew… everything I had… it's all gone."
The faces of his friends appear around him as he struggles to not cry. He glances at his arm and clenches his fist.
"Uraraka… Kaachan… Iida… Aizawa… Mom… All Might… Everyone…"
He is now seen sitting across two figures: Pearl and Marina.
"And yet, I can't help but ask this question…"
He is alarmed as he speaks to the two people.
"WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME?! I LOOK LIKE A SQUID PERSON!!"
"That's because you are a Squid Person."
"Yeah, you're an Inkling."

The Inkling is pacing around as Marie and Agent 4 look at him.
Marie: So let me get this straight… You were once a human being with a superpower. You fought a villain to save your friends, but ended up failing them in the end.
Agent 4: Hey, that's a little harsh, isn't it? I'm sure he tried his best. *Whispers to the pacing Inkling* Don't beat yourself up, buddy.
Inkling: Thanks.
A lonely hero from the past!
He is walking through Inkopolis as the other Inklings greet him with smiles.
Inkling: I don't know what to do anymore.
He stands before Marie and Agent 4.
Marie: Listen, kid. Inkopolis is missing the Great Zapfish.
The building that the Great Zapfish sits on is now bare of the Zapfish.
Marie: My cousin, Callie, is also missing.
The Inkling sees a picture of Callie.
Marie: So, how would you like another chance to save everyone?
Inkling: I couldn't save everyone in the past!
Agent 4: Then save everyone now for the future!
A new adventure!
The Inkling is now holding a gun.
Inkling: What in the world is this?!
Marie: This is your weapon. The Hero's Shot. But you both will get to use more once Shelldon develops more.
They all look down at Octo Canyon. The Inkling looks determined as he clutches his weapon.
Agent 4: So, here it is. If we find the Great Zapfish, then we'll be able to find Callie.
Marie: Who knows? If you managed to survive, there might be others.
Agent 4 and the new Inkling find themselves in a chamber full of frozen Inklings. The Inkling becomes alarmed as the pods open up to reveal the other Inklings. They're surrounded by Octarians.
Marie: If you want to find them, you'll have to help us defeat the Octarians… Agent D.
Agent 4: Agent D?
Marie: That's his codename. Welcome to the new Squidbeak Splatoon.
Agent D: I'll do my best!
The two Agents work together to fight hordes of Octarians. Agent D finds himself face to face with Inklings that look familiar. He's hugged by a female Inkling with pink cheeks.
The Agents and the now awakened Inklings run away from Octarians and Octolings. Agent D is seen sliding along rails while shooting Octarians.
Old friends
Agent D and some fellow Inklings are smiling at each other.
New Enemies
An Inkling with spiky blonde squid hair throws away some Octarians with a confident smirk. He is then shown to enter a big arena.
Agent D: Are you sure you know what you're doing?
Blonde Inkling: Hey, I've dealt with annoying extras before. So I'll just do it again!
He grunts as he holds out his arms.
Agent 4: Uh, dude? What are you doing?
Blonde Inkling: Where's my damn Quirk?!
Agent D: I think Quirks no longer exist.
OctoStomp enters the arena!
Blonde Inkling: GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!
OctoStomp roars as Agent D and Agent 4 get ready for battle. A montage of the Inklings fighting the Octarians until DJ Octavio appears with a hypnotized Callie.
DJ Octavio: Who do you think you are to interfere with my plans?
Agent D: I AM DEKU, THE HERO WHO CAN SAVE EVERYONE!!!
Marie: Whoa! That's a cool name!
Agent 4: *whispering* That's so badass!
Deku and Agent 4 work together in their fight against DJ Octavio while the other Inklings deal with any interfering Octarians before the title appears!
Heroes of Inkopolis!
Agent U: Whoa! Has it really been 12,000 years?
Deku: Yeah. But don't tell Kaachan.
Agent B is seen punching a wall in the background while screaming angrily.
Agent R: Oh, no. It's a bit too late for that, man.
Agent P: I guess I should've stayed quiet.
