Kova woke with a jolt, his alarm blaring as it always did. His hand reached for it automatically, switching it off without opening his eyes. The werewolf stretched, yawning hugely as the glorious feeling pulled at his muscles. His eyes snapped open when he realized he wasn't at home, the scent wasn't the same.

His heart beat hard against his ribcage in mild panic, and his eyes glowed yellow. It took him a second to gain his bearings, and when he identified the scent of Charlie and Bella with the family allspice undercurrent, he instantly relaxed back into his pillows.

This is home.

Kova sighed heavily as his heart returned to a more regular rhythm. That wasn't an entirely pleasant way to wake up, and sometimes he cursed his wolf instincts. A heavenly scent reached his nose that was entirely Jasper, and the wolf cracked his eye open to find his shirt from yesterday laying across his pillow. The vampires scent lingered heavily on the fabric where Kova's front had been pressed against his back on the motorcycle. The werewolf groaned, rolling himself out of bed lazily and dragging himself to the door without thinking about the fact that he'd slept with a dirty shirt because it smelled like Jasper Hale. Bella was just coming out of the bathroom, her damp hair hanging around her pale face.

"Morning sunshine," Bella snorted with amusement.

Kova was so not a morning person.

"Please tell me you didn't use all of the hot water," Kova pleaded drowsily.

"I thought werewolves had excellent stamina," Bella teased, and Kova glared at her, but there was no heat behind the look. "You're in luck, there's still some left," she said over her shoulder as she headed for her room.

"No one should be that awake at this time in the morning," the werewolf grumbled, shutting the door behind him and reaching for the faucet.

The water didn't take long to warm up, and after testing its temperature on his hand, Kova stepped into the spray. He released another groan as the hot water cascaded down his skin. His eyes slid shut again, basking it in. But he knew he should probably be quick about his routine if he didn't want to encounter any cold water. Because if he did... he'd get a whole lot grumpier. He went through the motions, wishing he'd gotten to sleep sooner last night. Stiles' teasing about Kova needing his beauty sleep echoed through his head, and he smiled before shutting off the water and stepping out into the steamy bathroom.

He towelled off, wiping the steam from the mirror before running the towel through his thick brown hair, then shaking it out. It would dry however it saw fit, he'd learned a long time ago that there was no point in attempting to style it. He flashed his eyes at the mirror, smirking to himself as he did it. Hopefully there would be no more werewolf circus demonstrations today. He wrapped the fabric around his waist before stepping into the chilly hallway, heading directly to his dresser to pull out some clothes.

He chose his favourite deep burgundy Henley, a pair of tight, black jeans and his trademark black canvas jacket that he loved so much. His forest green converse were also a given at this point, he'd wear them until they were falling off of his feet. They were the last gift his mom had gotten for him. He drug himself down the steps and into the small kitchen of the Swan house.

"Breakfast," Bella said, indicating the cheese bagel she had toasted and ready for him.

There was also a thermos of hot coffee ready to take out the door, exactly how Kova likes it if the scent was anything to go on, and the grumpy werewolf perked up instantly. He swept Bella into a bone crushing hug, lifting her from the floor and spinning her around. His cousin giggled as he placed her back on her own two feet and landed a sloppy kiss on her cheek.
