Chapter Eight
“No!” I exploded.
My face raged with anger, and my eyes moved to face Jacob’s. He was glaring at me intensely, and I glared at him back.
How was this even possible? I had to be trapped with him for a whole, fricken, month? I’d rather jump in a hole and die.
“Yes.” Jane corrected. “You should be happy! He’ll keep you guys companied!”
Companied? He’ll make my life miserable! Miserable!
“I’d rather not.” Jacob said, not trying to hide it.
“Well I’d rather jump off a building then be stuck with you for a whole month.”
“I’d do just the same.”
“Well then I’ll laugh!”
“Well I’ll pretend to jump and then push you down first.”
“Well I’ll grab your arm so we’ll both die.”
I couldn’t believe it. I was having a five year old fight with Jacob. He was probably the same age as me! But I didn’t even care. Me and Jacob? Stuck together for a month?
Jacob then stormed out of LaWouski, with his apron and all. I didn’t care, and the truth sunk in again. I hardly knew him, but he was always getting in my nerves. Was it truly possible to hate someone so much that you wouldn’t care if they just died off right there, and you would actually laugh? I mean, I didn’t even know him! He just always appeared at the wrong times, and why, why did I have to work with him? And now I had to go to Paris with him. At first I thought it’d be fun! I mean, the first thought of Paris is shopping! I already had all my plans planned out, but Jacob here, just had to be the son of the owner of the BBP.
“Why do you guys hate each other?” Jennifer questioned. I then realized she was still there, listening to our whole conversation, and I sighed. Jane patted my shoulder, and went back into her office, muttering something like, “Children these days…”
“Long story. Anyway, did you want to order something?” I asked. The restaurant was about to close, but she could be the last customer.
Jennifer giggled. “Yep! Can I get...”
I quickly took her order, and started working again. But my thoughts never got away from Jacob, and how much he could just piss me off.
I pulled out some fries, and started making them, but I couldn’t concentrate. Before, something always made me feel better. But what was it? Or who was it?
“Gary…” I muttered under my breath.

“You what?” Hannah asked, her fork falling onto the table, and her jaw falling open. I couldn’t help but laugh at her. She was pretty stunned. Added with her thick blonde mop of curls, I didn’t regret saying she came out of her bed as a big mess. Sure, I was mean, but it was the truth. Hannah always straightened her hair, every day in fact, so why didn’t she straighten it today? Besides, she had on no makeup, except for some tints of lip balm, but that doesn’t count. She had dark circles under her eyes, which was rare for Hannah.
