Chapter Eleven

My other roommate was Charlie Vandela.

Charlie Vandela, as in the model, Charlie Vandela. The pretty, feminine, gorgeous, Charlie Vandela. It was unbelievable. I was sharing my hotel suite with Charlie Vandela!!! CHARLIE VANDELA!

My gosh, I may as well quit the competition now.

CHARLIE VANDELA!

“Can I have your autograph?” Jen pleaded, as if she was going to go down on her knees any second now if Charlie Vandela said no. I didn’t blame her. I was just about to do the same.

Charlie Vandela wasn’t just any American girl. She was nice, cool, amazingly gorgeous, and she was just wonderful. Even if she was Martin Lope’s daughter (heir of the Bella Products), she was not those kinds of snobby rich kid girls who used their parent’s money just like that. She was the girl everyone wanted to be.

And she was sharing a hotel suite with me!

“Sure,” Charlie Vandela smiled, grabbing the pen from Jen’s hands and scribbling down on a picture of herself. Her messy but pretty signature neatly unfolded on the piece of paper, and I couldn’t help but regret not bringing my own pictures of her.

“It’s just Charlie Vandela. Gosh, you’re acting as if you see One Direction!” Elizabeth snorted, who was unattractively sprawled on the couch. She was playing with the Wii connected with the television.

“What do you mean, ‘it’s just Charlie Vandela’?” Jen snapped, her tone so scary that it made me squint to see if that was actually her. Maybe I needed glasses.

I glanced over at the real deal, who was staring uneasily at us. I mean, I hadn’t read the news in quite a while. I didn’t know she was going to be attending the Pageant. Isn’t that an automatic loss for the rest of us?

Charlie Vandela smiled sheepishly, but when she caught my stare, her smile turned brighter. I returned the smile.

“Well, why don’t you ask for my autograph? I’m pretty too!” Elizabeth exclaimed, and I rolled my eyes.

“You’re not her,” Jen motioned her hand towards Charlie, who was still standing there uneasily. Her black hair was tucked behind her ears, showing her slim, beautiful face. She was wearing the simplest black dress, yet she still looked so gorgeous in it. I envied her badly. “And you will never be, so if you’d just shut your little mouth-

“Can’t I get some peace and quiet?” Elizabeth asked, throwing the Wii controller down and stomping to her own room. Now that I thought about it, shouldn’t Charlie get some exclusive room all to herself? I mean, she was the daughter of Martin Lope, aka, owner of the Bella Products. Bella Products was so famous, and that’s what made Charlie the luckiest girl all over the world. It was like; Coco Chanel’s daughter.

Jen snorted. “Just don’t mind her.” She waved dismissively at the girl storming away. At least I wasn’t the only one hating on her. What happened to Jen and Elizabeth’s Twister game? There relation was good then.
